I think many of us would like to have a comprehensive sim encompassing the entire air war so we can play the "what-if" scenarios that are so fascinating to wargamers. What if the Brit Corsairs tangled with FW-190's? How would the Hellcat have stacked up against Bf-109's? How would the Armee d'l'Air have fared had it attacked in the West while 90% of the Luftwaffe was otherwise occupied in Poland?

I'm pleased to read that you intend to develop BoB until it includes the entire air war. However, 2005 and beyond seems like an awful long time when you're already retirement age, like some of us are.

Is there any chance of opening up IL2 to third-party development after the last paid update is released?

I'm afraid you'll only have an answer long after the last paid update is released. Maybe around 2005... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

I suppose you´re right DuxCorvan http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Would be very nice if you could make scenery...
I can understand they don´t want to "open" it up too much,
then it might compromise the realism and historical accuracy in planes..............

But I would shure like to be able to do scenery, and then
have the third party aircraft coming in with add-ons...

Yes, with the planes we have now, and proper skins, we could make many historical missions and campaigns, if not for the maps...

For example, the Blitzkrieg on Poland, or the last stages of Spanish Civil War...

But... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

We're getting quite a bit...and we hope to have more before support is over. Especially in the planes department.
