It's a bad idea...whats the point (and wheres the fun) in flying a load of planes with no cockpit? There is none...

It will only attract players who just want to fly the game in an arcadish manner and I think the il2 community could do without that.

You fly the way you want they will fly the way they want its a game not real life take a pill and go have fun. Beside the number of rooms at hyperlobby flying full switch out number those with WW veiw. Oh yeah I fly cockpit on so dont say **** about how I fly

"Arcade" is not "no cockpit"

Arcade mode is great for checking your gunnery, determining weak spots on aircraft, and as a general hoot

First off I fly full real, except when im flying with my squad (use externals only).

If the whole sim was just about full real I don't think we would have the amount of players we have now.
Look at it this way, a new player comes and he/she has never played a flight sim. The noob could start out by flying arcade, then when he feels comfortable he can make that transition to full real.

To each his own. I myself prefer full real, with the exception of external views.

full real + speed bar only. External view destroy the important surprise effect.

And I don't know if it's correct to say that beginning with arcade mod is good for beginners, because as soon as they switch to full real they will have to relearn everything. For exemple you will not learn how to fly and land correctly if you turn off realistic spin/stall and realistic landing. That would be as if you shoot with auto aim in a fps and then you have to aim yourself.

I think he means arcadish settings, not the config setting. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Daiichidoku if Im not mistaken that is the only settings you fly. I think you on another fishing trip. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

Arcade is whatever the individual deems it is fellas. There is no set guidelines. For me arcade is cockpit off along with externals, no stalls, ect.

I would've never gotten into this game on full real. Now I fly realistic though.

Your argument is invalid.

Hawgy-

by using arcade mode you can see for yourself if the DMs are wacky. I know of a few planes that I can hit dozens of times in the engine- with no damage

The way I can tell is by using arcade mode. It's a tool, not the kiddie way to play http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Try it and see. You will find some interesting things out- like sometimes PKs need to be made multiple times on AI (Ki-21) before a Pilot is killed..or, as I like to call it

" <span class="ev_code_RED">I was a teenage Zombie Pilot for the Japanese Empire!</span>"

heheheeh give havok a ceegar

yea, i fly arcade 90% of the time

FR takes too much concentration for me, im wiped after a few sorties...thats why i stay with arcade, mostly..but i fly both, and that ppl fly FR to total arcade and anythign in between, bothers me not in the slightest

what bugs me though, are those who judge anyone who flies settings different from thiers as inferior or invalid

my first post was actually what somebody wrote to me..had nothing to do with arcade settings, precisely..

i just wanted to post it so he can see how absurd what he said sounds
