I only got 2 questions 1. Is PF an addon for IL-2 like the Ace-Expansion-Pack?
2. When is the release-date?

has luthier said its a complete stand alone? Im wondering if they are going to at least take all the aircraft and maps from il2fb/aep and add them into PF.

Actualy, from what I have read so far, PF will be stand alone to begin with.

I am guessing when I say this may have somthing to do with Carrier Operations in PF.

However I was given the impression of - To begin with, so I guess that could change further down the road.
Luthier has said that in the long term nothing is yet set in Stone.
Thats all I have actualy read on the matter in these forums.

FP Stand Alone.

Although--just thinking--if they make you buy FB first then we can be sure FP and FB will work together. That would ease my mind considerably about the Compatibility issue.

As I understand it, PF being a standalone product doesn't neccessarily mean it won't be compatible with FB. It just won't require FB to play. However, I could be wrong......

Yep. Read the poll. The fact that it's still an open poll would suggest to me that the initial release status is yet undecided.

I dunnow about that. From the GameSpy review it seems at least set in mud that it's a stand alone game without all the maps and or planes in FB ACE. Too bad I guess, because I was hoping to buy the game. Now that it's a stand alone for sure, I can put out of mind the thought of ever buying it. I guess flight simulation games will stay in the realm of obscurity for the next few years until someone finally figures out that most gamers won't go ga-ga for a piecemeal game.

Oh PLEASE!!!! Flight sim games will stay will stay in the relm of obscurity because we are a tiny segment of the market. To a dedicated flight sim enthusiast a quality flight sim is like digital crack. You might hold off for as long as possible but you eventually break down. IL2\FB\AEP are all on my machine as PF will be when it comes out.

PF will not be a piecemeal sim as 1C Maddox team will give it the support like they have on all previous titles.

If you want mass arcade flying try the planes in BF1942.

Wrong! But thanks for playing! Wrong on both points. there is a very large potential market if you can get the game to be a complete game that can be set up without tweaking files etc. Wrong about me buying it as a stand alone, borrowing it or even stealing it off the internet.
