Hello. I've had some discussions here with a few of the members about DAT file modification. None of us know how. Is there anyone out there who knows what application will open a DAT file and allow you to edit it? Examples?

flag.dat
camera.dat

If anyone could help shed some light on this procedure it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry, I'm backing up my files. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

My radio opperator will be standing by, awaiting your transmittion.

Those are probably binary files which may, possibly after appropriate conversion using a utility only the devs have access to, be opened with a sophisticated graphics program.

Try opening them in notepad and look for readable strings.

I ask because the Nationality mod that Serg provided added a handful of nationalities, thanks to a modification of the "flag.dat" file. I'm hoping either he, or someone else here who has done it, can give me some pointers.
