I'm rather new around here and was wondering how hardcore everyone is about IL-2. I'm in usually in the 5-10 catagory but sometimes less. How about you?

I voted for "5 or less", but I actually play for about an hour max per week. Too much work. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Probably a couple hours a day when I don't have class or homework, a bit more on the weekend.

About an hour a day on average.

That just about doubles during holiday weekends, though. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

10-15 now every week without fail, minimum, for the last 5 years or so.
On occasion,if the wife is away,I have flown 60+ hours in a week.

<5 hrs a week; more like 2 a week; a little more lately tho. Wife, kid, job, life don't leave much time for anything else- but I've always loved flying.

Cheers

My il2 computer is at work...I sit here every day in my wifes photo studio and when there are no customers surf the net and mess with il2.

So if you also count time spent making missions/maps/mods/skins/ etc. then probably six hours a day or more...and I even find time to fly on and off-line too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have been spending about 25 hours a week working on missions in the day and flying at night; but I'm on vacation for the next 5 weeks so it is not my norm. My norm is more like 15 hours per week. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

At my fanatical peak, ca. 2005, 10-15 hrs per week. Now, 5 or less (really, about 2 hrs, if that). To be good with this game takes a considerable time investment. As my time for it has dissolved, and, admittedly, my enthusiasm, my skill has tanked.

More than my wife wants me to.
Sometimes 10 or more..that I actually play it, but for Il2 related things, skinning etc...much, much more http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Not enough to be good, but too much to be bad!

I'm afraid Uther is 'all-flown-out' as they used to say in the Luftwaffe! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I can go through a case and a half a week easy. Some may say I have an addiction problem, but I think I have it under controll.I allso like to mix in some shots, usually some expensive bourbon or even vodka.OOOPS,just re-read the post.My name is Matt...and I am an IL2 gamer...It has been one hour since my last kill. With the support of this comunity I will be able to get back up there and do some damage to the enemy.God bless us all!!!!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif10 to 15 hours in a good week!

During my summer break where I have all the time in the world to waste, I get to play like 3-4 hours everyday.

Problem is, it's not summer break so I sorta get to play on weekends and in addition to that, the server I play in has usually no players in it during the time I'm online as I'm but one of the few asian IL-2 players who play online.

I thank you all for responding. I was expecting more extreme users, it seems my 'habits' are pretty much mainstream for most around here. Cheers! (hmmm...there's no beer mug toasting smiley...)

5 or less.. not really enough to stay very sharp for full-switch online. But I try.

Ideally I'd like to fly about 2-3 hrs per day.

There are several other things I'd like to devote more time to, too. If I could only figure out a way to clear up about 40 hours a week in my schedule, then I think my life would be pretty well balanced... Hmmm, what am I currently doing 40 hours a week that I could eliminate... hmmm.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

It differs from week to week. The last few weeks it has been around 15 hours I think. Sometimes it's a lot more, some times I don't play at all.

I'm in the 0-5 hr range. . .my virtual pilot is mostly retired and spends most of his time sipping virtual colada on a virtual island somewhere in the pacific (the war is over already guys - you didn't get the memo it's 1946!??)

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Back in the day though, I was probably doing 4 hours a night some evenings. . .

I'm glad about the freedom I have. I spend 5 to 10 hours of a week with this game. It's my escape.

None. Going to satellite internet last year ended my online flying. And playing offline has had no appeal for me. Should I even have another option for internet access, I might return to playing.

A big fat 0.

I haven't played in probably 2 years. I used to be super addicted probably played 20 hours a week or more, but moved to Australia and now I'm engaged! I don't have the time, or the rig.

I'm waiting for BOB to maybe get back into it, but I won't buy a new rig until it comes along. At the moment I'm too busy with work, fiance and surfing. Just popped by to see if there was any news on BOB. I was watching Dogfights from the History Channel and a flood of memories came back.

That involves sitting in front of a computer 8 hrs a day playing a video game? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I probably play this game ~5hrs a week nowadays. I used to fly it ~20 hrs a week, but I've been spending most of my game time playing Silent Hunter 3+4 lately.

5 or less now until winter roles around. But for the first 4 years or so I was probably logging 30+ hours per week. The past 2-3 years I become bored quickly. The past few months my time has dropped dramatically mostly due to the influx of idiots now flying online. Perhaps 4.09 if ever released can rekindle my love for the sim but I imagine it will take SoW and Luthier's Korean sim to do that.

leitmotiv has it been that long??? Back in the day from 03-05 I was easily putting in 20 to 30 hours a week. Had been playing since 01, but after a nasty divorce (NOT sim releated) my free time was great. Then I met a new girl, got married, bought a new motorcycle, bought a house, blah blah blah and suddenly I have no time to fly - here or in RL http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Let's see....how many hours in a week? Ah, 168. Minus hours spent at work so I don't starve and have to live under a freeway overpass with a dodgy WiFi connection....40. Minus sleeping, (what a waste of time I say) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif ...42. Well that leaves 86 hours. Incidentals such as bathing, shopping, answering e-mail and the phone etc. take away another 10 hours or so leaving me with 76 hours. Of that, oh gosh, am I spending that much time with this sim? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif
