Why would Oleg and the guys have to make the AI fly 110 % efficient so you can never keep up neither with your mates or your enemy? IL 2 has suffer from this from day one. No formation flying possible you always drag behind. Which also forces you to fly as a squadron leader to have a chance to see any action first hand.

I am writing this after starting the PF US fighter campaign and spotting some B5N2:s and seeing how they actually slowly pulls away from my faster F4!!!

And then when I finally start to close in with 100 metres every minute or so my **** team mates who where much further away go past me and finish them off.

After that I finished some of my teammates off and felt very good about it. They at least don´t run from me as everyone else do.

Why not a realism option that do like some racing games. Let you catch up when behind? That you of course can toggle off and on for all sadomasochists out there?

Now even more whining. Manage to score three Zero kills when my computer hang up. Not PF more than it make use of SM 3 and make my 6800 ULTRA go very hot. I just want to whine some more.

Also my F4 start to smoke as soon as I get up to 2500 altitude. Wether I have supercharger to 1 or 2. Guess it´s something with mixture? I have it to auto which sets it to 100 %. Also have 100 % prop pitch is that correct?

Another whining part is that it takes forever to get to the action still. And that I can´t fly these **** things because I haven´t played IL 2 for months.

I would love a turbo button or something. or 64x time compression. If not that let you save at least once in a mission.

Other than that I have absolutely nothing to whine about. Graphics and sound second to none and the dog fighting is as good as ever when the AI decides to fight not run away.

Argh.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

About mix.ctrl, you should lower your mix if you go on higher alts. Prop pitch does not matter. Include supercharger of course, properly shifting.

Yep and then when you lag behind the flight leader tells you to report back to base! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

strange, in most of my campaign missions i cruise at around 5000m at 80% throttle, and i leave my wing behind, do the ai change their superchargers and mixtures ?

I have the same experience, unlike when we first got FB. Once I'm at altitude I have to hold back on the throttle.

Okay good to know. Though that still requires me to be the flight leader somce the AI loves low level flight for some odd reason.

I now disabled complex engine management and overheat much nicer experience.

Though I get hard locks which require me to reboot. Anyone else got them. I guess it´s my video card but I have lowered my overclock several times already and now it´s at stock http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Also I see you have to enable the shader model 3 perfect water manually? I got like a 30 fps drop switching to water=3 versus water=1 on my 6800 ULTRA.

I would really like to fly with water=3 because it makes low level flying so much easier. And makes it less disoriented with blue ocean and blue sky.
