Hello,

I was wondering if any of you, fine folks, will have some suggestion(s) for a campaign that will be a good way to get a newbie started with IL2+FB+AEP+PF. I was thinking of starting with the LegionKondor campaign I downloaded, but the CR-42 is a bit too much for me to fly at this time 9_9.

Thanks in advance,

Cheers.

SBD-3 Guadalcanal Campaign by D.Humphrey. I didn't played it (download it yesterday), but the man in review claims that this is one of the few campaigns that he can play and survive thru whole campaign.

Login and check it out on flying-legends (on campaigns page three):

There are more but this particular one I catched from review.

Find a campaign using a Bf109F4,G2 or La5FN. These aircraft have excellent performance compared to their conterparts and their wing slats make them very forgiving in turns.

IMO, a medium-short one. That's really the only criteria. You should set the difficulty settings to inversely mirror your expectations (i.e., if you want to live through it and have fun, make it not difficult at all; if your idea of having fun is really getting in the details and nitty gritty and you don't care about dying or not succeeding with the campaign, pump up the difficulty).

There is a LOT to learn and just as many different ways to learn it (hard knocks, off-line education, on-line rooms, etc.). Regardless, it will take TIME so don't be daunted by the learning curve.

I further recommend picking a campaign that interests you (because of history, or because you like flying a particular plane, etc.).

YMMV.

Well, I don't mind the daunting learning curve as long as the campaign is somewhat realistic (e.g not me against the entire enemy air force at each mission) ;-)

That's a great suggestion. I'm mainly interested by German and Soviet planes, most likely in fighter-bomber role.

Both of my Rufe campaigns are fairly easy.

My SBD-3 campaign is manageable if you can do carrier landings. Don't linger over the target in the SBD campaign, AAA will kill you eventually.
