Hey guys,

Just thought I would throw this out there.

I was in a czechwar mission and I had 2 mates behind the frontline. So I attempted a rescue. I made a nice landing on a road and shut the engine down. Waited a minute, hit the "I" key and it said engine off. OK, checked throttle, supercharger, all good, try again, same thing.

Switched magnetos back and forth to no avail. Tried different throttle positions, no luck. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

I did not run out of fuel or prang the prop. As a matter of fact, I taxied around a bit to prepare for takeoff before I shut it down.

Anyone else come across this mysterious bug?

Now I understand it happening if you pull neg G's and starve the engine, But after a routine shut down?

this is how I16 engine was started :

this is simulated by the fact that in FB, you can only start the engine from an airbase.

LOL, Good one.

That brings up another point. I surely was not MIA because I was only 100yds from our tanks which captured the sector. So I wonder why I was listed as captured? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Nice pic indeed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I-16 (and -42 -50 -80 -152 -153 -229 -262 etc...) need official FB airport or Test Runways to start engines at Zero airspeed (parked).

They're actually not swastikas but swavastikas, I believe. Although either may be displayed in either orientation, swastikas are usually displayed with their arms bent in a clockwise fashion, and swavastikas are usually shown with their arms bent counter clockwise. So, swavastikas are backwards swastikas.

Anyone who knows more or different may correct me if I am wrong http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

-152 ... I meant -162. I confused myself here. Do'h http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif -152 works fine.

Another one that won't start engines except on Test Runways and Official FB International Airports is the AI only -323 ...

... the AI -321 also can't start engines. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

When we first get flyable I-16, we was told that it can not be re-start if want to.

For Finnish Ensign, quota from website
"The history of the Finnish blue swastika

The Finnish blue swastika was originally the symbol of luck of the family of Count von Rosen, who donated to the Finnish "White Army" it's first plane, in 1918, during the War of Independence.

It was adopted as the official national marking of the Finnish Air Forces and later on, the Army. Only after the Nazis adopted it as their emblem did it acquire political significance. In other words, the Finnish swastika had nothing to do with the Nazi party, Nazi ideology or fascism in general.

After the fall of the 3rd Reich, the Finnish Defense Forces abandoned the disreputable swastika in favor of the new national marking; the blue and white roundel."

You are not alone. I had see and heard lot of people jump in and yell "that's nazi" when see stuff like that. One of magazine "Popular Science" have story about custom work on sport car to make it fly and paint it in red with old style german iron cross Ensign which is popular along chopper, sudden lot of angry readers said "why you put Nazi Ensign on it?" My God! Maybe we need to upgrade history classes and more reading classes,

Ya, I was thinking its a kinda game figuring it out, and it derailed me too. We don't often see just the numbers, unless we talk about different variants of one plane. But this is vastly different plane types.
