Only stipulation is that they must be photographs YOU took, otherwise we'll be flooded with pics from the many 'funny pics' sites.

I'll start us off, some of you will have seen this, this is what happens when you doze off leaving your wife's laptop and a bottle of suncream in easy reach of your two yr old. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Ok how to explain the complete absence of human intelligence...??? .....

I will try it this way :

Imagine you want to bring something a bit heavy like...lets say a cable reel from point A to point B.

Point A and B are relatively close to each other but B is on a lower floor and the shortest way to get there is a stairway.

Only problem : The stairs for the stairway havent been installed yet.

CeleonĀ“s idea was to take the other way from point A to B which is up to four times longer but definitly unblocked and provides an elevator.

Suddenly a bright lightbulb pops up above the heads of fellow co-workers......

"Why take the long way ? We just attach a rope to that thing and let it down to the other floor." http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Only problem : We had no rope. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Just as Celeon wanted to say "Lets just take the other way we cant do anything without a rope"... they had the idea "Lets take a cable !"

Then (as you can see) they attached a cable to the reel in a wonderful safe looking and success promising way.

I said "Guys.....thats a stupid idea" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

"That stiff cable isnt usable for that" "And the knot you tried to make is simply rediculous http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif

Their answer : "Its just one floor !" "It doesnt need to last long"

Celeon pointed on the "WORK SAFETY" notice on the wall making : http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

They said : "Get lost !" http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Celeon refused any further involvement into this stupid idea and took out his camera in anticipation of what was already visible on the horizon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Then they gently pushed the reel over the side and started to let it down slowly.

A second later : Scrreech ! ! Swoooosh! ....silence.... and a BANG !"

The knot opened, the reel fell down to the other floor, impacted there like a bomb , splintering the wood into a thousand pieces , leaving what was left of the reel unmovable http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

They made : http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

I had one ! Sadly i cant find anymore http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

The left "wheel" was broken in half and the other into even more pieces. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The worst thing was : That black cable is glass fiber stuff for laser data communication ......quite sensitive ...very expensive ... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif

Luckily nobody saw us three idiots at work there. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

But luckily the isolation material of the cable and the reel itself took all the energy and the essential cable interior took no damage. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

So we were able to cover up that shameful event http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I have here and now a cute/funny pic and a photo of a partial solar eclipse, which I dare to call "Big Bang" - somehow that's what I think of, when I look upon it!

Here is a pic of our tortoise, a specimen Hermanii Hermanii. His name is Merlin, and he is the hardest, toughest tortoise in Britain, and will take on any cat, dog, wild fox or seagull where we live. He's never lost.

And here is quite an old pic of me with one of my favourite comedians - Billy Conolly ( I wish Mel Gibson would stop following me around, saddo)

I feel that Messervy. I grew up with dogs, we always had Labradors and later, Lurchers. Sadly, old age and the excessive summer heat two years ago took it's toll on our last Lurcher. I got a call, raced up to my parents house and she died in my arms, I held her as she slipped away. The vet had been and said he could do nothing for her, and as far as he could tell, she was semi comatose anyway so left us to it at home, bless her. I cried and cried for days. Take comfort that your faithful friend was happy in your company and you did the best for them that you could my friend.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

My first dog when I lefy home was Schooner, a border collie, named after a beer glass, not a boat.
He died fitting in my arms from complications due to his diabetes, he was 16.
I now have Huey (yes, where my forum name comes from) a 50kg Belgian Shepherd cross, my IWO and best mate, especially since I've been home sick. Sad dog stories will always make me cry, and if I'm drunk, don't ever play the song 'Mr bojangles" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
I love dogs and have every sympathy for you guys, perhaps we should have a favourite dog post?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
