As always thank you from the 13th Hellenic Virtual Combat Sqn for your dedication to our simulation.

I would like to know if you can share with us any info about B.O.B cockpits and the method you will require for inclusion into the game. I am particularly interested in the I-185 cockpit and would like to see this be the minimum standard for B.O.B. I believe that this cockpit was modelled twice and then 'combined' to give it this gorgeous 3d effect.

I think its super and would urge that this method or something similiar be used as the default.

Any information or screenshots greatly appreciated.

Sergio you know well that public forum is not a place for accusations. Want to settle it in private, by all means. BTW Protos showed me that he paid for it along with 7 others from 13th. I do my homework too, you know.

Well... if you make a cockpit, you have a allowed ammount of polygon count and textures size (single and overall). Now you can choose which way to go, to do the best solution... using much polygons and more or less textures or using less polygons but much more textures. I-185 use second and many parts are 'faked' ... which means not really 3D modeled but painted nicely and mapped onto a simple layer in a way that the player cannot really see if its really 3D or not...

Now, BoB will support 6DoF and movements like leaning out of the window or such. While real 3D modeled cockpits would work well with this, in I-185 some parts would look distorched and also have no sides. Thats also the reason (I guess) why in that cockpit the differeces between the two camera positions (shift+F1) is very very small.

BoB cockpits will support that all. Thats possible only by increased limitations for polygon and texture ammount.

I am not a graphics guy but I actually understood that. What if anything can you tell us about cockpit specs for B.O.B. any info? How do the 'counts' for B,O.B. compoare to IL2?

Casper that development shot of -88 pic is beatiful, far better than the releaced version with dirty oily glass. What is sad is the -88 cockpit glass uses FB/PF fantastic panel reflections, but they had to resort to the old tricks of trying to model canopy "glass" with black smears.

Are you speaking about the BoB Ju-88 (seen above) or the FB Ju-88?

6DOF is a term relating to Track ir and the acronym stands for Six Degrees of Freedom or the axis that can be 'input' to change your view with track ir.
