I have been practicing small-carrier landings lately on the Casablanca using a Corsair on full-real and I can't seem to be able to raise the seat for a better view.
I heard there was a way to do that.
I always open the canopy of course.
Does anyone here know how to raise the seat?

Go into Control settings in game and set up "Toggle Seat Position" I'm not sure what the default keyboard setting is, if there is one.

Not every plane has this.

There is a key called "toggle gunsight" that you have to use before pushing the "toggle seat position" key :

1) open canopy
2) press "toggle gunsight" key ( you have to be in the position at the back of your seat )
3) press "toggle seat position" key .

There is no default key for this mate, you will have to bind one similarly to binding a key for tail wheel etc. Please bear in mind that you can only raise seat on a few aircraft too, (Corsairs and some zeroes, may be others but can't recall offhand)

It works! Thanks all!

What a difference. WOW.

I had to stop back and say thanks. But I am back to my carrier practice.

You'll also find that your pilot doesn't like being in the raised position at high speed.

I geuss I should try that out of morbid curiousity.

Anyway, heres a vid of a carrier landing I just did this evening with my new found raised-seat. It was wierd but I found it helpful.
I found that it is not easy landing on a stationary escort carrier:

It's not very interesting, if I recall correctly when you put the seat up at high speed it just drops back to the normal setting more or less straight away. It's been a long time since I messed with seat height but I seem to recall the speed is about the same as the flap retract speed on the F4F.

Oh.
For some reaon I instantly pictured John Lithgows face as he was hanging out the window of that airliner from the Movie Twilight Zone
and I thought my pilots head would be sticking over the windshiled and catching the full impact of the airflow like that sort-of. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
