I like WOG vrey much. There are many great ideas in it such as commanders,Adventure Cave and Emerald Tower. They can be added in Hero 5,I wish.
BTW,I don't like the angel and balor in screen shot. They are so small and weak.So does other monsters.I can't feel any power from them.

I didn't like WoG. It wasn't really on the same wavelength as the original game, I think they would have been better of modding Age of Wonders.

I liked WoG because it let me keep playing HoMM3 but it could have used a bit more polish. They do a great job of hacking HoMM3 though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I like WoG. But then, I'm biased because I am a WoG team member. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

WoG ( Heroes III Wake of the Gods ) is still the BEST strategy game EVER in my opinion.

If Heroes IV would have been modded in a similar way , there would be no need for Heroes V http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Some essential features that hopefully will make it to Heroes V :

- *** A tough intelligent AI ***
- Random Map Generator
- Stack experience
- Deep & complex ruleset
- Hall of fame

etc..

I've been playing Heroes since day 1, my other 2 favourite games are :
- Master of magic ( outdated )
- Age of wonders III ( terrible AI )

Hopefully WoG & these 2 games will influence the Heroes V new team, so we don't end up with a dumbed down game.

There wouldn't have been any Heroes for me in the last two years without WoG. The game really rocks. Unfortunately the campaigns are a little bit weird, but otherwise its way above the basic H3 or H4 (and their add-ons).

Heroes 3 got new dimension with the release of Wog. With every new Wog release Heroes 3 come closer to perfection http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
I just can't wait to see Wog 3.59 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

I also enjoy WoG, and have been playing it for some time now. Even with the length of time I've been playing it, I still feel as though I've only scratched the surface of all the features it has to offer.
I'll have plenty to do while waiting for Heroes V (and yes, I DO play quite a bit of Heroes IV, also).

WOG is a fantastic MOD for HOMM3 most of my HOMM gaming is with WOG enabled these days, strewth if they only improved the graphics to modern day spec and keep the options coming I wouldn't buy another game unless they sold each update. Ubisoft and Nival should take almost the whole book(instead of just a page) from the WOG team I say.

I love a lot of the wog features, but a lot of random map games quit unexpectedly. I love that you can customize. Ie if you have no water, then you can delete water spells and artifacts. I like the commanders. I like that you don't need the cd to play. But the crashes really bother me.

Have you posted on the WoG section of the Forumplanet Round Table (http://www.forumplanet.com/strategyplanet/homm/forum.asp?fid=4166)?

Also there are the
Equilibris (http://www.forumplanet.com/strategyplanet/homm/forum.asp?fid=6883) and H5 (http://www.forumplanet.com/strategyplanet/homm/forum.asp?fid=5292) forums at Forumplanet as well as this HOMM forum.

Okay..WOG..firstly...it had a new ideea in campaign..it was more rpg...Implement that in Heroes V...The artifacts that u wouldn't ever equip on you..lvl 1's mostly...had some new characteristics that made the mmm..woth keeping..and some skills..like Scouting(don't know who'd ever choose that as a skill) was changed.. All and all.. There were some GREAT ideeas in WOG..and some BAD ones..

I definitely agree with all those, who named WOG the greatest game of all HoMM series, and I hope the creators of HoMM5 will adopt some of WoG principles and ideas.

I tried to play WoG a few months ago.
A multiplayer game -as always.

The game crushed again and again!
It was simply unplayable.
So i never instaled the mod in my home computers.

Well it's hard to make it work 100% without source code. There are multiplayer "safe" scripts and a few that aren't. What scripts do you have running?

I dont have the mod.
I played with a friend at public computers a few months ago.
If memory serves... ...
...
it doesnt.

I checked some options i thought were interesting and we started the game.

What you are saying is that there are option better left unchecked in a multiplayer game. Did i get that right?

Some links would be useful then. Is there a manual, a guide or something? I am clueless about the mod. My only experience with it was the one described above (about half hour of frustration).

A manual appears in chosen folder when you install the mod.
Some options are automatically turned off for MP. Right clicking on options gives detailed info.
