I think the Daily Mails gone from being just plain bad to a satire paper.

oh dear

You whack hydrogen in a tube and hit it with electricity you have just made yourself a hydrogen based light bulb http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Of course it glows. A quick google search will in fact reveal electrically excited hydrogen emits 4 specific wavelengths 410.2 nm 434 nm 486.1 nm and 656.3 nm.

No idea where the idea that fusion is taking place has come from. presumably if hydrogen glows in the dark it must be fusion http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

British newspapers in general (especially the tabloids) aren't very trustworthy and even if they are talking about something that happened, they trump it up to make it seem more newsworthy, but I dunno if this is one of those situations.

He is probably tinkering around with Philo Farnsworth's FUSOR.

Nothing new about that.

I think that is it or some kind of cold fusion device.

I have seen several real atomic bombs and they don't look all that different from a regular high explosive bomb.

umm

I am going to point out the obvious...

Current is not the byproduct of fusion.. Heat is, that's used to make steam to run a turbine to make electricity.
