I am experiancing a severe bug in .ntrk files in

IL2 4.04m AEP pacific fighters merge...

What happens is..i record an NTRK file as im playing...the game goes fine..i go to watch my track and i notice the planes flying in directions they cant fly. then once it shoots my plane into the ground or backwards and into the air a few km etc, it loops and does it again. This usually happens maybe 10 loops or more. then it plays ok for a while, then does it again. Some of these loop errors last more than 10 minutes. Even at 8x its hard to skip past them.

This does not happen when i play single player and just quit and go save track. This makes a .TRK file which plays without error. A single player game recoding a .ntrk though does have the bug. Online play with my friend also.

This friend also has the exact same problem.

We had il2 fb with some patches (1.22 i think)..then upgraded to AEP...same problem. Now have 4.04m with pacific fighters and it is still doing it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Anyone else have this problem..or know how to fix..or something?

Ill host an example for you guys (i work for an ISP so hammer away, lots of bandwidth on this backbone http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

Again, I'd love a solution..thanks in advance everyone!!

Online-tracks show this behaviour when there is a hughe lag or the server and/or the connection is too weak.

Looking at some planes being recorded correctly, others are not, I'd assume your ping was somewhere beyond 300ms or your PC was buisy with loading stuff and textures. It's also possible that the server ran into problems when all started at once and started downloading skins instantly from all players.

ntrk's are very sensible to these things.

Hm well, the ping seemed to be fine and it does happen with single player missions. Also..me and my friend are just setting up a server and playing..like..2 person missions.Usually on maps we just slap together our selves. We have the exact same install. Neither of us have any extras installed...I dunno, doh.

TRK files are not affected.

My machine is a dual core 2.5ghz amd with 2gb of ram...it shouldnt really be too 'busy' loading stuff should it?

I was hoping there was something easy like a setting adjustment i could do to fix it, guess not hey doh.

The only way around this is to assign a key to start recordindg a track, do this in 'controls' on the main game interface.

Quote from an earlier post:
".trk files are saved as records of the imputs on the plane (I believe)....

I think that .ntrk files record the positions on the aircraft. These are stable after patching etc."

trk. files are also easily corrupted. Any lag during recording or playback effects the playback of the file. Record in ntrk. format instead using an assigned key rather than clicking 'save track' after a mission.

Thanks major_setback.

Dont think you can record TRK files while playing with a buddy...but i will try this ntrk recording thing by assigning a key to it. Hopefully it helps.

It is ntrk's which i'm having a problem with though.
