View Full Version : BUG: Enemy ships blowing up their back end w/ their own \DC's!

Many a time I've seen an enemy ship exhibit a large explosion on their back end, only to realize that they blew up all their, on deck DC's.

An obvious bug, but wondering what is causing this?

Anyway, it helps me avoid those nasty DC attacks. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe it was a malfunction on their part, and not a bug! Iv had a destroyer line me up for a hedgehog attack only to have them all blowup on his deck!

Could this be a "Feature" for inexperienced ASW ship crews?

If so how often did it happen IRL?

Only that one time for me.

There was a quite a number of instances of escorts blowing themselves up in RL. Usually associated with shallow DC attack... however also a few spontaneous explosions. So it could be a delibarate game feature. You say you've seen it a lot, maybe it is overdone, or in fact is a bug.

Not seen it myself however I don't have a lot of hours either.

I have only experienced the Hedgehog explosion in time compression, what about you guys.

I think time affects their aiming

As long as they're blowing themselves up and not me, I really couldn't care less! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Anybody else noticed the "run aground" type bug aswell.
I sneaked into Port Said at night past the sandbanks and surfaced, thinking I would not be seen. A destroyer spotted me inside the sandbanked area and after a surface battle I laid low until morning as I only had 16% hull integrity. On the map I could see four lines to sonar contacts, but when I sneaked back out at dawn I discovered three detroyers and an Elco had run themselves aground on the sand trying to assist the destroyer I had sunk!
Seemd rude not to torpedo them whilst stuck there with the engines running and gave the Elco a dose of 20mm poisoning....

Armed Trawlers run aground all over the place in Scapa Flow.

BTW, I would have given the Elco a taste of a Torpedo, just to see how high it could fly. Preferrebly under keel detonation.

That's cause the A.I. Ships can't see land and they take the straightest route toward you. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

I told this before, but nobody believed me.
Destroyers sinking by themselfs, using hedgehogs or DC's.

I got couple screenshots

In 18 patrols I've never seen any of these so-called bugs. Using 1.3.

Did 1.3 fix this, cause I'm still suffering alot from this behavior, in 1.2, so far?

Anyone else care to comment on this?

Still happens in 1.3. While playing tag with a DD around convoy ships last, he reversed engines to give a C3 right of way and blew off his DC racks. He persisted in making attack runs on me afterwards despite the fact he had no wad to blow and the other DD's broke off, figuring their mate had the situation under control. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
