I thought Battle of Britain was a new game, not an addon...

I will never say goodbye to FB, because PF will integrate into FB. I'd say I will give PF a hard run for a while, then fly them both. I think I will suggest to my squad that we alternate our Saturday evening flights from PF to FB, once we have played PF for a while.

Will fly both. How else could it be? BoB?... I will fly that also. Bring on Malta and Spain and Donder and Blitzen and I will fly the dang sleigh too.

As long as Oleg designs it.

i could be wrong WTE_Dukayn i havent heard so much about it, but if you are right, and that it is a new game i wont stop playing FB, i dont like the pacific campaign that much, i rather fly my trusty 109 rather a zerohttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

BoB is a completely new game and wont be out for at least a year i would guess.

Still with the mileage i have gotten out of both Sturmovik and FB id be suprised if Maddox games was in that much of a rush to push it out into the market.

Whole new theater, different type of aerial warfare, carriers, new planes and more bombers. Smacks of long term playability for me.

As for the Pf/FB debate i'm going to ***** myself out to both camps. I will install PF over FB, get a cable net connection, buy a new gra@hics card, join a squadron and spray some lead in the virtual skies above the Pacific and over Eastern Europe. Best news it that i'll be able to do both in my bubbletop jug. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

Yay. Im already addicted to FB, a second helping is nopthing but good news (and flyable beaufighters to boot.)

The best for now will be PF addon with FB. Both in the same sim.
New missions and new historicals missions as well.

More choice to make your own.

Just dig into history and make missions because i'm shure that some Russian planes were in the pictures as well at some incidents somewhere in this area..

I won't be leaving FB behind as PF will be an addon for it. Besides, I want to fly some of the FB/Aces planes in the pacific like the late model P38's and P47's.

2 words: Carrier Ops

FB was merely a filler until the real air combat sim got here.

I'll fly both as once I install it as an add-on for FB:AEP I won't have a choice. This sim will continue to get substantial play from me for a good long time.

BoB is over a year away and there are other add-ons already scheduled for PF. No-brainer IMO.

As far as I am concerned PF will just be FB3.0... so Ill still be playing FB.

I'll fly both if I ever find a forking computer that works.

Going on 2 weeks since I've flown. Going completly forking crazy. The cat is getting very pissed about flying in the back seat while I run around the house pretending I'm a Sturmo making a strafing run on a Kraut airfield. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Not saying goodbye to Forgotten Battles since PF just installs into the game. So I can take out a Wildcat over Midway or an IL-2 over Krasnodar in the same game.

Thats bloody impressive.

well, you can fly planes like the B-25J with the RAF over the Normandy , with the VVS over the Balaton ore with the USAAF over the Phillipines - nothing will be left behind http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Battle of Britain is NOT an add-on to Il2:Forgotten Battles, it will use a completely different game engine

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming

Don't know, what this voting is all about? I'll play IL2FB and install PF over it, to use all planes.

But, yes, I'll probably drop IL2 when BoB is released.

There are choices missing. I'll be installing PF as an add-on to FB/AEP, but if it turns out that one can't fly PF only servers with an add-on installation I'll be creating a 2nd install. I already have 3 intstallations, IL2 v1.0, FB v1.22 and FB/AEP v2.04 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have 2 Installs and ~250MB in subfolders that enable me to play any version http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, I'm not sure what I'm going to do about PF. I've grown slightly tired of some aspects of the IL2 format/engine. I won't list my issues as they are beside the point. What bothers me is the thinking that I'll pay for PF just to have an extension of these same issues with a new name.

I certainly WILL watch the commentary on PF, and if things look better, I'll get it and do an install over AEP.

What I've been considering is just sitting it out until BoB is getting ready for release. In the mean time I can play through all those great IL2 campaign missions in IL2 v1.0 again, and continue enjoying the Su-25 in LockOn.

How can people forget about a game that got this whole craze started in the first place, there have been many threads about this topic, NO WAY will I forget about FB, besides i love to fly 190's, I'll just continue to fly em in PF. They are both gonna be GREAT combined together, two forces combined in one, hehe YES!!!!!!!

Capt_Haddock
10-13-2004, 12:00 PM
Well... you can say that the full-on combined install (FB+AEP+PF) is going to be the new FB, so no need to choose http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Finally we'll see some Soviet B-25s and A-20s over Russia. And what about the combination Beaufighters + Seafires + Carriers + Online Desert map? The Mediterranean is here! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'll drop FB if PF has a campaign like the 1942 Pacific Air War carrier campaign.

Vladimir_No2
10-13-2004, 03:10 PM
I shall certainly use the new features of PF(aircraft), but most likely over IL-2 FB-AEP maps...

WTE_Galway

being offline these days .. my main interest in PF is whether or not it has the AEP patches included

though i am sure the new campaigns and planesets will be fun i themselves

It depends on how good PF will be. If its not better than IL2/FB/AEP I keep flying over the grasslands of Russia.

Hypotechally, if the P-38 or any other plane "becames a victim of hate". Which means that it is inferior to many other kites that known from many other sources wich it wasnt, and if some other planes, like the swordfish a old biplane "becames a favourite", and is programmed to be a superior dogfighter, wich it according to many other sources wasnt, PF wont be a success.

WTE_DuStA

considering we have just started our internal WAW campaign http://il2.synapticshock.org i would predict that WTE will be flying both. The way i look at PF is an addon for FB nothing more.
