View Full Version : Real navigation mod?

I want to know if there is a real navigation mod for SH3.

e.g that I have to manually "find" the boats position (but only when I see the sun...)

Remove my "GPS" position from the navigation map...

Thank you!

KFreddie has been working on such a mod; don't know how far he has taken it. I expect next time he logs on here he'll see this thread and comment.

Hi! Ok, but I thought there already was a mod...

in the SH4 Mods Workshop write about a real nav mod for SH4, and it "is similar to the mod for SH3"...

And I saw a movie on youtube...about "faking sextant navigation" Maybe he used a mod...(?)

Thank you

I saw a thread a long time ago (a year or so ago) about the fact that SH3 modeled stars and constellations. This included some sort of manual position fix gathering based on constellation altitude in the sky, and time of year etc. (Yes, supposedly the devs got all that stuff real-world accurate).

Unfortunately, the one I thought had it, doesn't appear to be it. And I was wrong about the date; it's 2005. Constellations thread (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/857101043/m/4721055592?r=6221012692#6221012692) (Scroll to the top for the screenshot of the stars)

I hear you, Tuddley. I get the idea that he is reiterating the original question. It was simply too priceless material not to use. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
