this league is invalid without P-38 option :P

i guess a type of over 10,000 made, in production from before start of war to after war, that was in just about every theater doing just about every job there is simply doesnt count

(also interesting that the F4F wildcat, F6F hellcat and yak 9 are also missing)

Not that IL2 isn't a great game, but the above statement falls into the same catagory as calling it "IL2 1946" instead of "IL2 German Wonderplanes". No A-1 Skyraider, not even an F4U-4. No Meteors, no Sabres. I'll get off that well worn soap box now.

Oh no the plane I only fly isn't in it I must whinge about it.

I agree Scolar, about a year ago I brought up something like this and got shot down by the winers and truth sayers cause just playing the game is totaly unrealistic.

By the way Manni this may just get me back online, ill look into it more.

All I'm saying is call a spade a spade.

If you have the skill and the interest, don't let somebody talk you out of doing something you want to do! "Oh somebody doesn't like it" Who cares if they like it? You do. Do it for you.

Unless your trying to get money from them. That's a different story.

LOL 100% agree,,, If you like the game then go hard!!
Didnt mean to include you Phantom in my speach by the way..

Eh, not a problem Muddy. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm just glad others have the skill to do these things. I certainly don't! It's the sort of thing that keeps games like this alive, which, overall, is a good thing.

Few may say, fights like that, in old classical fashion, h2h merges...8-12km range..etc etc..are overdone. Acceptable.
Many of us look for more depth and for a more complex environment in flying, mission- and goal-based for example, especially a pleasure with mates with good teamwork and coms.

BUT, for those who are still able to join the "ring" that might be a challange, and looking the fact, that the strongest 1vs1 and 2vs2 pilots are mostly from eastern nations in IL-2, nothing is more interesting to see what the West has to deliver.

Well its the opposite, we form Tournaments which offers cash prizes and other items along the way, it doesn't cost you a thing to join, other than just signing up..and that doesn't hurt..

I was speaking of 1c, Ubisoft, etc. What I meant was:

1. Don't call a product something it isn't. The name "IL-2 1946" is a bit misleading. It brings to mind the aircraft that were in the works, and almost off the drawing boards, or prototypes in 1945. Examples being the British Meteor, the American A-1 Skyraider, etc. It does not bring to mind "yeah, a P80, but everything else is our best guess at German Wonderweapons"

2. Don't make a product nobody wants and try to get money for it. That's just simply bad business sense. Obviously, if you're making it, for your use, or to offer for free, that's a different story. It's kinda difficult to justify complaining about something somebody provided free for nothing (not that anyone would do that... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif). Of course the opposite is also true. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to buy it... except you have to know what you're getting first. Not always possible with software.

I wasn't trying to discredit your tournaments. I am a bit curious, however, as to where the prize money comes from if no one puts anything into it?
