Just installed PF over v2.04 no problems.

One thing that surprised me, though, is that the H81A-2 and P-40 B/C is slower than almost any of it's contemporaries in any flight I have made (a total of five http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

I know that's not a lot of time, but I cannot get it to go over 270 mph in level flight at 1500 feet. I was expecting a hair over 300. I expected the slow acceleration, but I didn't expect it's IJ counterparts to catch me after I dive and run http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif I tried just a sightseeing flight over the Owen Stanleys in an H81A-2, and after 15 minutes of level flight at 1500 feet, I got to 270 mph and no faster. I had thought I remembered these P-40s and Hawks doing just about 300 mph. Am I just remembering that incorrectly?

Am I just overlooking something? Yes I use CEM, and yes, my cockpit is closed. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

How many mph is 566 kilometres per hour? I forget the conversion formula...The only on-line source I can find says 566 kph for the P-40B. Sounds kinda wrong...

1 Kilometer = 0.621 Miles

so 351 mph or so?

Chuck I'am reading Americas Hundred Thousand and it says that the plain pre war H81 at military power gave 365 mph at 15000 ft.

Hmmm. So there's go to be something I'm doing wrong then. Maybe i was thinking hawk 75 when I remembered 300mph. I just don't know. My ref books aren't here..

I will do more testing

I think the p40 is not to far off the mark mate, you may be making the age old mistake of confusing TAS with IAS.Go to the no cockpit view and note the True air speed (it's in kph)

Just tested at 15000ft I get between 560-565 kph TAS, not bad at all realy.

I should have said "I expected a touch over 300 mph IAS"

I just wasn't letting it accelerate, I think. I haven't flown it enough yet. i can't seem to touch 300 IAS yet, but with correction, maybe that's right. i think i have the correction chart in my F-51 flight manual, if I can find it http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif This place is a mess

Chuck,
If you "like" the P-40B's speed, wait till you see it's damage model. A total 1 hit quitter.
