Flying a mission against Zero's today in my P-38. Crept up behind a big group of them at about 550km/h. One of them was flying in close formation with his wingman. I let him have it, three second burst right across his fuselage. BANG! he just exploaded! His wingman was so close that he exploded too! Two huge fireballs! P-38 with gunpods mind... eight 50cal machine guns and a few exploading shells from the cannon. Anyon eles ever got a double kill on IL-2? Triple kill prehapse?

You're a regular Chuck Yeager!

"Also Chuck Yeager became "ace in a day" as he shot down five enemy aircraft in one mission. Two of his "ace in a day" kills were scored without firing a single shot; he flew into firing position against an Me-109 and the pilot of the aircraft panicked, breaking to starboard and colliding with his wingman; Yeager later reported both pilots bailed out."

I kinda think Zero's are too vulnerable to explosions. I blew up a corsair from 150-180m and my Zeke turned into a fireball too. And I didn't even fly through the explosion, was just too close to it I guess. Taking damage I can see, but...
On your topic though I have had damaged bombers fly into others, very satisfying!

The only Pilot who isn't affraid of Chuck Yeager is...Chuck Yeager.

When Chuck Yeager firewalls the throttle, 5 bf-109's desintergrate.

If Chuck Yeager gets target fixation, the taget not only dies, but his inter family goes with him. and his entire existance is earsed from history.

The rate of fire from Chck Yeagers P-51 isn't messured in Rounds Per Second, it's messured in light speed.

Chuck Yeager doesn't sleep. He waits.

Chuck Yeager doesn't taxi on the runway. He gets into his aircraft and the Earth moves beneath him.

Chuck Yeager can divide by 0.

Chuck Yeager knows where in the world Carmen Sandiego is.

In all of the time of playing I've had one triple kill. I was flying against bombers...probably a formation of B-17s and I was flying a FW190A-8 with MK108 cannons. So I came through the formation from the side and fired off a pretty long burst of MK108 fire. The target plane was hit badly and started sliding to the right...right into the path of the bomber in formation beside it. So both of those turned into burning wrecks and thats when another bomber at a lower formation flew into one of the falling bombers.

Three in one.

I've gotten a pair of fighters in the same burst maybe twice or perhaps three times ever. Always lucky...where my shots against one fighter landed on that and another behind it and just below and both went down but we're talking in the single digits for all of these and thats with years and years of flying.

i love it when u just have a complete fluke shot.

It must be a couple of years ago now, but i was messing around in qmb on the corel sea map. i forget what i was flying, either a wilcat or hellcat against ai zero's of the same age. Whenever i just want a quick blast i just throw up 4 vs me in the qmb, i must of done it thousands of times, but in all my time of playing il2 (since the orig) one moment amongst all of these i still remember.

I was trying to get behind a zero, when at about 700m he reversed his turn and was heading back across my gunsight. I swear i just dabbed the trigger as a shot to nothing, don't even know why i did it at that range, and low and behold he just exploaded, complete fluke shot http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I could try for the rest of my life and never do it again...

-There are no control surfaces in Chuck Yeager's P-51. Chuck Yeager is always in control.

-Chuck Yeager shot down the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise.

-Chuck Yeager doesn't read manuals. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

-There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Yeager has allowed to live.

-Chuck Yeager's Mustang is so fast, he can run around the world and shoot itself in its own tail.

-Chuck Yeager doesn't have a clock in the pit, HE decides what time it is.

-Chuck Yeager's P-51 has two speeds. Cruise, and Kill.

-The leading causes of death in North Korea were: 1. Heart Disease 2. Chuck Yeager 3. Cancer.

-When Chuck Yeager sends in his taxes, he sends blank forms and includes only a picture of himself, looking through the aim and ready to fire. Chuck Yeager has not had to pay taxes, ever.

-The quickest way to a man's heart is with Chuck Yeager's six .50s rounds.

-Chuck Yeager can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves.

-Chuck Yeager once shot down a Fw 190 with his finger, by yelling, "Bang!"

-Chuck Yeager is the only fighter pilot to display the Heisenberg uncertainty principle -- you can never know both exactly where and how quickly he will head-on and shoot you in the face.

USAAF P-51 ace in WW2, and post-war test pilot. He was the first pilot to break the sound barrier in level flight.
