View Full Version : Cr@applane servers/maps!?

Am I wrong or do I see early cr@pplane servers or maps running on servers more rarely for every day that goes? Hardly ever see any Chaikas, Cr-42's, G50's or J8a's anymore. It's sad because more intense dogfights than Biplane dogfights are hard to get.

On an average server you always get the usual 109's, FW190's, Spits, Yaks, La's etc.... nice planes but whith a game/sim like this with this amount of flyable planes we should be able to get more variation don't you think?

I will set up F19_Cr@pGalore one of these days when I have got my router sorted out, but I wish our server owners could give us Cr@pplane lovers some slack http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

i dont see them anywhere either. Only server that has some early war is virtual pilots but the majority choose laterwar g6 la etc.

Every now and then you will find a coop with some early war but not many at all.

UK-Dedicated has a map where you've got Brewsters, Hurricanes, Gladiators, and G.50s on the Finish side and I-153, I-16, and Yak-1 on the VVS side.

Its quite a fight.

Trollville 2.04 has cr@p planes gallore. In fact it has all planes, AI or flyable.

There are few things as fun as bringing down a gotha in a J8A or a I-185 in a CR.42. I just love it when late war pilots or jet jocks get sucked into turnfights with biplanes and lose badly. I will never understand uberplane flyers.

I ran a 1941 invasion of wake island server last weekend, server was full for about 3 hours straight. BTW, the P-39D-2's climb rate is seriously overmodeled reduce it by maybe 300% and it might be just a little on the optimistic side. And the P-40C's damage model is seriously undermodeled too, 1 hit anywhere on that thing and the controls are severed.

The GIAP server generally has Cr.42s at least, although recently we've been running a pacific map, mainly for training purposes.

But we like our cr@p stuff!!

If it isn't in a Mustang, it simply isn't flying.

i have recently set up a 1941 df game, ok so the settings arent full real and i can only host a max of 10 players http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif
its fun none the less, it requires the pilot to think about the planes weakness first.
