Hello guys, Been gone awhile; but wanted to update you on a new addition to the USMC Air Museum located at Quantico Marine Corps base Quantico Va. On Monday a older model F-18 was being decomissioned and flown in from its unit to be given to the museum for it's collection. Well after a few touch and goes it came in for a "final" landing. Well something went terribly wrong and the pilot punched out not long after landing http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif. The pilot is ok, and the plane is actually ok with only a minor few things to touch up. The plane wound up in a marshy field at the end of the runway and was just retrieved at the end of the week from its muddy mire. A sad ending for such a GREAT aircraft but it still will be shown in the museum when it opens in 2005 or 2006. Just thought you guys would be interested in knowing. No pics, but here is a brief story about the incident.
