Had a thought regarding BoB and online play and thought I'd open it up to comments.

Could there be an official online profile or stats (like Battlefield 2). This would take the idea further so that you would keep the same aircraft (you could have a hangar of aircraft) and it would take battle damage and/or have wear and tear if you misuse the aircraft (like running the engine at 100% for long periods).

This would promote you taking more care of the aircraft and add to the immersion factor of online play.

I of course understand that there are problems with the idea, such as people cheating with their stats and it would in some way have to limit the FM (if the aircraft has damage). However this is not increasing performance at all, it's just adding limit to it. Guess for the majority of the people out there this wouldn't really appeal, they just want to get online and have some air-quake action.

Anyway, interested in others views on this.

umm what if you get shot down in your favorite aircraft? do you no longer get to use it?

i'd be pretty angry with myself if i lost my dearly beloved 109

It would require a lot of thought, for example it would kind of be weird to be stuck flying a crappy plane because you're actually surviving while someone who dies gets a brand new spanking engine. Also, what about multiple registrations and other hacks. It would be interesting nonentheless.

Of course you could always implement your own solution (http://cot.simjunkie.com/?renown).
