Is it possible to bring up the chat command while playing the game offline? I believe the default is the ` command, but it seems to work only for online/multiplayer - can others please verify?

You can't bring up the chat in offline play.

But you CAN open the console. Shift+Tab.

Just curious, who were you planning to chat to offline? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

You only "talk" to wingmen, ground control, etc via the TAB key while flying in offline missions/campaigns and as Schlachter posted, the console is available offline as well.

Maybe he was trying to practice for essental online chat messages, like
"mwuhahahahah!!!!!"
"u n00b!!!!!"
"i pwned you"
"my plane is porked"
"u fly UFO macchis"
"bomber ai overmoddle"
"u trackir sucker"
"aaa is insane"

Did I miss some?

No, seriously, maybe he wanted the console to be opened. This works from chat line in online game, but it's different offline.

Always a smart-a... in the bunch.

Researching an alias command set (via CMDs) to update a U.S. Chatter pack that would echo/voice back your original communication command + default the communication response

Example: If you chose the "Cover Me" command from the comm menu, you would hear a voice that says something like "Red 2, this is Red Flight Leader - ready for attack run, stay close and give me some cover."

Oh, and I also wanted to see if it was possible to chat to myself from myself... LOL http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Yeah, you can kinda do this. Basically, host your own multiplayer game from within the game. I used this method to test my precanned messages using my voice activation software (Shoot 1.6). So when I say "Good Kill", it sends message 4 which has "S! Good Kill" to ALL. Or if I say "Targets", it sends precanned message 5 which is "<targets" to ALL.

Nah, sorry, I didn't mean to insult you, but you haven't provided any hint about WHY you need this apparently strange feature (online chat in offline mode) in the first place.

When we can spend 15 pages debating the bloody conveyor and the airplane, you can imagine any kind of stupid idea behind your strange request.

Apologies again.
