View Full Version : Why does it lack a "Skip" feature ?

Hello. I know this has been said before but I really want to explain my point.

Yet the first reason some people gave is this:
"It's because it would not be realistic. Desmond cannot skip Alta´r's memory."

1- Yes he can. Remember the voice saying "Fast forwarding memory to a more recent one." ?

2- Realism doesn't matter. It's just a game! It's meant to be fun and yet it isn't when you cannot skip those <expletive deleted> dialogues!

Is that what it's all about ? Realism ? We remove fun to get realistic ?

"Hey, when you replay a memory you have to listen to the whole dialogue with Al Mualim again! It's REALLY REALLY annoying and not fun at all BUT... it's realistic, so it's awesome"

I mean... C'mon ?

OK second reason people gave is:
"The cinematics are in-game rendering."

So what ? Just press the X (A) button or somethin' and the dialogue will cease and you can continue playing. It would be THAT simple!

So, if someone of Ubisoft reads this, please consider a small update in which you could put a "skip feature" because it'd be quite useful and so appreciated http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for reading.

i agree with you. the inability to skip cutscenes drastically hurts the replayability of the game. i hope they fix this in ac2. im the meantime, there is a workaround for the current ac.

if you have a PS3, you can skip over many cutscenes and investigations by following this video:

there is an analogous process for the xbox, but it requires the purchase of a memory card and a transfer cable. in this case, you keep your savegames on a computer and then transfer the appropriate savegame to your xbox when you want to play a given mission.

likewise, i suspect that you can archive your savegames if playing on a pc.

it takes some time to set this all up, but it completely transforms the way you play the game. i find ac to be vastly more enjoyable now.

Expect a lock to come, this has been discussed way too many times.

Maybe they could put something in that stopped you from skipping first time (so ya know what the HELL is going on) but then when you replay you can skip. Surely that would be the best compromise

I just found something to keep me "busy" while waiting for the dialogue...

My N64 with Super Smash Bros http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I'll play as Fox and fight against Link.

This is always what I do when I upload some Skate. footage http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
