I voted for Gore in 2000, http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif here I am voting for for him again! Won't they EVER fix these voting machines!!!!

But seriously- if you want to have a sim, make it a sim. Not some watered down thing. I doubt much of the younger crowd, who might be bothered by this stuff even is interested in this type of game. Case in point: a friend of my daughters, whose 10 years old, liked playing the LAN with Pacific Fighters with me. I made the mistake of getting it for him for Christmas and installing it for him- turned out he wanted something more graphic! Can't win some times, but that's kids http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

So if the pref is burried in the game, like in the config file, wouldn't it presuppose some tech savvy, let alone maturity? It's not like "IL-2: San Andreas Knock Down" or something (thought that might be interesting too http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif)

C'mon, Oleg, wadda you say?

Cheers-

You need to take all this Gore and put it in a Lock-box.

p.s @ slo123 :

Told you it would be difficult, didn`t I? I and some others directly petitioned Oleg and it got pretty well shot down. I may try again, if there seems a chance....

Telling me. "You don't get Gore, anymore"
How much more of a Framecount do I gain if I set it at =0 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Well back to topic... I chose yes for gore, but not in a childish Mortal Kombat way, it just adds to realism and immersion. I don't even need spatter and blood on the windscreen really, just some slumped over pilots and gunners is fine

War is gory. Therefore, a war sim should have gore.

It wouldn't take a lot of time and effort to add the sort of graphics that used to be in the game.

On the other hand, I don't think it's crucial to the game. It would be a nice touch, rather than a major improvement.

Yeah, bring on the gore http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

This was the first sim that allowed you to shoot chutes... so why not gore ?

I wasn't spamming; it was a joke that went with the topic. I was hoping I made that clear in the subsequent post.

This (CLICK ON THIS FOR BLOOD! (http://media.pc.ign.com/media/745/745556/img_3009903.html)) sort of thing you mean? Bring it on! Whirlwind of Vietnam's a 1C thing isn't it?

Why, of course some gore and slumped pilots/gunners would add to the excitement charge... in a funny twisted way IMHO... why not anyway? just a bit of gore is not going to harm anybody, many horror or FPS games have people shredded and the pieces scattered around dripping blood... and the same very games are not even "adult" rated...

Can we add tiny tiny screams (aaagh... you got me!) from those nasty nearly invulnerable AI tail gunners just to have a bit of satisfaction the only and rare time we manage to get them? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I seem to remember once shooting one of the blister gunners on the PBY and he slumped out over the side of the aircraft. Only done it once though.

a level of gore makes it more interesting. but make it openable in the config.

I'm all for GORE, LOTS OF GORE... however if people are worried about children there could be a simple "password" protected gore child-lock to turn it off/on

Study Jung - he'll teach you that we need to keep in touch with our inner child.

Like others, I find it bizarre that gore is accepted in FPS's yet not in a WWII flight sim.

This sim is about war. So many details are done so well but not this one. War is h*ll on earth. Let's see a little of it here in this war sim.

You can still find HighGore=0 in conf.ini. Changing it to .....=1 affected the big Russian seaplane (MBR?) and one other plane. It never got a lot of use.

I'm not so bothered about a blood-spattered cockpit. From a realism point of view it's a bit unlikely that a dead pilot=a cabin full of blood, but it would be good if a dead pilot slumped over the controls I think - in a way that was detectable from a close flyby.

At least two others... He-111 (not sure if one or all variants) and one only of the Bf109f variants.

After seeing all the posts, and hearing about the last attempt of petitioning Oleg, how about at least we ask for "Slumping pilots and Crew members" so we would know when an opposing plane would be considered a negligible threat?

I'd think that is the best compromise if the developers are dead-set (no pun,) against red pixels.

How about more feedback on that? It has been brought up before by Brando and others, and I think represents our basic objectives without the potential to offend anyone.

I'm with triad on this, the slumping pilots would give us the immersion and visual clues enough. Compromise! not a word heard around here very often http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey you know I think we have have something that the developers will go for (re: slumping pilots, etc.). I have posted in Oleg's ready room and would think it'd be helpful to the cause if others posted on it also.

See http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=6...771040104#8771040104 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=400102&f=63110913&m=8771040104&r=8771040104#8771040104)

What do we have to lose?

Cheers!

I saw 'gore' in the sim about twice

I don't give a rat @ss about it either way, unless it takes time and effort away from something that actually has to do with airplanes, and then I'll argue to the death that brains splattered on perspex is a lot less important than having high lift devices modelled correctly, or even having the right cloud formations present during certain weather conditions
