Posting you Dxdiag would help the tech gurus around to figure out the problem.

You will need to supply us with more info for us to try to help.
The most common causes are
driver conflicts
memory problems

Please post DXDIAG for instructions see luckyboys FAQ on http://www.airwarfare.com/

Have you checked that your power supply is correctly rated for card and processor ?

Has this always happened since you installed or has it just started ?
Does it only occur in IL2 or with other games?
Have you changed any hardware or installed any software to make this happen?
Have you checked out Hunter82s posts at the top of this forum ?

check your memory by downloading and running memtest

Have you checked for heat?
download and run motherboard monitor and post temps.

Take side of case and make sure all fans are working and that they are not dirty
Leave side off and blow cold air over motherboard using a house fan and retest.

someone better than I will check your drivers to make sure there are no obvious conflicts.

I have a 6800 GT. After a fresh XP (SP1) install and a tidy FB/AE/PF install I was experiencing crashes.
Edit: I initially suspected video drivers, but after experimenting with a few, I went and tried the latest Audigy drivers. problem solved.

I hope this helps others...

My config
AMD 3500+
MSI Neo 2 (Nforce 250)
1 GB Crucial Ballistix DDR 400 (2 x 512)
XFX 6800 GT
