Hello, I just bought a new joystick - a Saitek Cyborg Evo to be precise, but it won't work in IL2.
The peculiar thing is that it works in other programs, such as ww2online, but IL2 won't recognize it at all.
Please help me :s

Hi

Start the game and go into your Control section. Scroll down to the Hotas Control section.

Right click across from Ailerons and a box will light up. Then move your joystick to the left. Then set up your Elevators and Throttle the same way.

Thank you very much for the tip, but it doesn't seem to work.
For example, i tried changing the aileron input - marked it and wiggled my joystick to left and right, but nothing happens.
It's just plain dead http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Go into your main IL-2 Folder in C/ Program Files/Ubi----

open the main file folder and look for....

an ICON with the title...

"il2setup' Right click on this icon and a menu will pop up.

Select the TAB that is labeled 'Joystick' and
Click on it and make sure that there is a Checkmark in the box next to 'use joystick'

Then start the game and go to 'Controls' and set up the joystick. Remember to have the joystick plugged into a USB port before doing any of this.

Thank you gdfo

I have tried that aswell, I think the problem might be that Vista isn't detecting the joystick and won't set it up automatically in the "gamecontroller" application in the control panel. The joystick has it's own (automatically installed) program allowing access to it. I've tried to uninstall this program and setting up the joystick under control panel, but that aswell won't work.
This might be a Vista issue more than an IL2 issue when I think about it... has anyone had any similar problems?

don't forget that in Vista Program Files cannot be written to...so install the software to a different folder

So Ejergard?

Are You saying that vista does not "recognize" the JS in control panel, or is it listed and in that case, can you calibrate it from there?

You also told me that the JS works with other games, which to me seems odd if the JS is not listed?

I had a look at the Saitek official website, and there seems to be a few with the same problem as you (different JS but same software I guess). Have a look at this (http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=13209) thread and you might get some clues.

Seems to ba a Vista / SST issue. The poster referrs to the beta drivers listed in this (http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=11552) thread. So if you have not installed these, I suggest you unistall your previous drivers and give these a go.
