In CFS3 a tactical display shows where the action is.
In IL2 Forgottend Battles I can hear the action but even scanning the horizon 360 decrees cannot see or find it.
Padlocking Enemy air or ground show pix of it but no connection to it.
Following formation is OK but speeds of the planes varies a lot and I am experienced with lots of formation flight in Luftwaffe pilot school 1944.
Any advice?

Maybe we should be asking for advice.

My advice is to fly online, with a squad, on coms, on a FR server

Joachim1924, you have hit the brick wall between a clever "simulator" and your real experience and it must be confusing. Are you using the mouse to scan the visible sky from your cockpit? You may want to consider buying the TrackIR device to give yourself a naturalistic view of the sky---it will allow you to scan without using a mouse. The artificial sound effects are certainly "gamey" and confusing until you are used to them. They partially compensate for the poor rearward view in this sim by warning you with noise there is someone on your tail (this is to be corrected in the following BATTLE OF BRITAIN due out sometime next year with a more naturalistic rearward view). Maybe this will help:

I am sure all of us would be fascinated to know as much as you care to tell about your experiences flying during the war!

Hopefully BoB will have realistic vectoring to targets based on radar.

Sides without radar are forced to fly CAP over wide areas (ie: IJN CV defense vs USN CV defense).

Joachim, we do a lot of team flying in The Fallen Angels, our forum page is at http://favacw.dyndns.org/faforum/index.php and you can find us online at either 'Winds of War'
on Hyperlobby or at 70.87.121.84:2100 by direct IP, Team Speak address is also 70.87.121.84 no password needed.

We are a combined Europe/USA squad so there is usually someone around, just ask.
