there's one in the Duxford flying legends trailer film also, I've noticed. The 109s in the Battle of Britain film definitely aren't 109e variants, as the nose is very different. Can someone tell me please which version of the 109 they are?

Although visually a look-alike, the HA-1112 M1L Buchon had been a later derivative of the wartime Messerschmitt Bf 109

hope this helps you :-)

If memory serves, I believe if you examine the "Heinkel 111's" in that movie you'll find they're a similar derivative.

Again if memory serves correctly, both the 109's and 111's in that film were on loan from the Spanish airforce.

Correctly.

The Luftwaffe planes in 1969 BoB movie are Spanish versions:
109 = Hispano HA-1112-M1L Buchón
He111 = CASA 2.111

BTW-Both are show in this tread, in Luftwaffe colors:

Nice pictures from interior of CASA 2.111, notice the MP 40 attached in roof:

I expect thats there so when an engine gets knocked out, they can throw it out the window to lighted the aircraft or use it to avoid fighting over the last remaining parachute! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yeah the merlins are a little less obvious in the "heinkels" but when you look they are definitely there.

They were all Buchones http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

also in the movies:

Pearl Harbor
Deep blue World

I think they look fugly, man, IL2 has spoiled me with all the historical correct references
