Does anyone know anthing about this add-on? Is it worth my time and will it have any affect on online play?

A friend suggested I get it and a few others: wings over water, wings over jungle and one other that I can't think of right now. He does not play online though so he could not tell me if it would have any affect on online play.

As I understand it, they are just some campaign add-ons. Is this correct?

The Last Days is pretty good. Worth buying in my opinion, if you are an offline campaign player.

I also have Battle Over Europe and Operation Barbarossa. I could do without Operation Barbarossa, but it's not for sale either.

All of these are campaign and skin add-ons. Battle Over Europe adds another map (NW Europe) with campaigns based there.

I'm looking forward to Wings Over Jungles.

I don't have it but my buddy does and I've put some time in on it.

Its a great add-on. The only catch is you need a mighty PC to run her. The given campaigns UBI makes with the game are very thin, especially in terms of ground units.

TLD tries to give you the best simulation by placing flak in every town, on the larger maps theres all sorts of random flights of aircraft not associated with yours and you mission, and all kinds of other targets of oppurtunity for fun and multiple outcomes etc.

It all makes for a great add-on, problem is you need quite a monster to run it with the graphics turned all the way up.

More than the offline campaigns, I enjoy the exrensive online coops that I fly with my squad m8s often. TLD is alright, Case Blue is another that is alright. My favorite is BANZAI out of these three. Imho, any of the three above are well worth having. I have them all. And like the other m8, the PlusWave addons look to be very good also.

As far as your initial question about TLD, it's worth having. All the briefs are in German. Which is fine if you can read German. The beta patch 1.07a fixed this. And now there is a 1.08a beta that is released. This m8 has given great support to it thus far.

BoE is good. TLD is excellent. Both are supported by the authors. TLD has excellent support. (Do a search on SimHQ.) I would recommend both.

I'm playing the free demo of the Last days; and I've been very impressed with it.

It won't affect your on-line play at all; if you're worried about compatability with other players/servers.

TLD and others are reviewed here

I like TLD but it is very intensive and gives some stutters on some of the maps on my machine- 3ooo athlon with 1gb ram and fx 5900xt card.

It has a nice variety of missions.

BOE standard is also good and there is a free addon called west front which gives good spitfire campaigns

Ian boys is releasing a new package soon based on Eastern front in europe which looks promising

Case Blue is reviewed above

Banzai got a nice review

hope this helps

TLD is a very good game but Author has run into hardtimes lately, final patch supposingly at X-1 software for final processing. Read this thread for latest info: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb....topic;f=144;t=001059 (http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=144;t=001059)

Beta patches may not be available anymore, so you may want to delay bying TLD until final patch (supposingly V 1.1 shows up at X-1 or MatrixGames.

For your consideration.
