Hi,

Way back I bought a Track-ir 1, but I couldn,t get used to it because, when I looked around and then back to straight forward, it wouldn,t center straight in the middle, always a bit right or left.http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/potver/uitsnede3.jpg
How much different is Track-ir 4?
And isn,t there coming a T-Ir 5?

I have a TrackIR 3 but I can tell you that it centers very well, the 4 is even more accurate. I don't think you'll have any problems with centering.

I have a TrackIR 4 Pro and I haven't encountered such problems. This is the first TrackIR for me, so I can't compare it with earlier models, but I can assure you that it kicks ***.

These problems were mostly fixed with v3.

The only real differences between V3 Pro and V4 are field of view. The resolution and sampling rates are the same.
I went from TIR1 to TIR3 Pro w/VE and things are like night and day. If you take the leap of faith with the TIR4, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Thanks for your info guys.
Is it foreseeable that they will make a Track-ir 5, because of some inaccuracy?

Simply press your `recentre` button (F12 default) and it`ll centre the screen to your view. change the button to your preference if you want.

It`s a must have and I use it all the time. I got on fine with TIR1 this way, but you can`t get better than TIR4. TIR4 is far smoother and less funny with different light sources.

It would seen ultimately inevitible that an eventual revision will surface, but I'd suggest not waiting to see as the current version is a solid 10 on the kicka$$ scale of sim gear and gets http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif from me as is.

Yep, TIR 4 rocks! I never had the any of the previous versions so hard for me to speak for them. But I can say TIR4 is smooth as silk and presented absolutely no problems for me and i rarely ever need to hit the center view key. I use the default profile and just edit the two axis to smooth.

I have a problem with the track-ir 4 that i recently bought, it moves up and down and to the right fine but when i turn to the left just slightly it goes beserk. The heads display shows my head still basically looking straight ahead but the camera head is upside-down looking at the back floor???? Anyone had this before?

I have a 4year old Track ir 2 and it works great. To recenter just hit f12.

Natural Point rep has visited the forums stating not to expect a new version any time soon. (I think he said at least a year.)

I'd think you could buy a Track IR 4 and be pretty happy with it for years to come.

Nothing new on the horizon, in regards to a TrackIR 5, until next year.

1 - Looking at your Tracking screen, do you have more than 3 dots on the tracking screen?

2 - Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackClip Pro?

Initially I tried out a Track Ir 1, didn't like it and stuck with mouse view for a few more years. I now own a Track Ir 4 and it's a lot of improvement from the first model.
