The ability to variably adjust the view up/down and left/right, this way you can look above or slightly on the side of your nose which is vital when taking off and landing.

I know about the "raise seat" feature in PF, but this would be even better.

Yep, and it's great to be able to look around the posts in the cockpit, that can be done with the sight-view now, but that is not nearly as flexible.

I've heard that you can't do that in FB/PF due to the way cockpits are designed, IIRC, would be nice to lean out of the cockpit tho http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yep. The cockpits are designed to be viewed from a very restricted perspective.

The one thing that might be workable would be to make the point of view movable only as far as it could otherwise move due to pulling Gs, gun shake, etc. Not much, but it would be a little something.

- Yellonet

It has been awhile sense I have seen AH. So I dont know what they currently have... But many of the 3D guys here (like Gibbage) have pointed out that the 3D cockpits in IL2 dont suport alot of POV moving.. In that alot of the art is not there.. In short, if you moved your head LEFT (pov left) you would be able to see what is behind the gun sight.. And the answers is there isnt anything behind it.. So it would look strange...

I dont know what is different about IL2 3D cokpits vs. Jane's WWII fighters where you could adj the POV.. Maybe Jane's did go though the trouble of drawing what is behind things.. Might be in that Jane's dindt have near as many aircraft as IL2 does now.. Thus saving alot of time and money.
