Blazing Angels have licensed the IL-2 game engine and some IL-2/FB/PF 3D models from Maddox Games.
That's all regarding involvement of the MG into this project.

The engine and the models are heavily modified and ported to X-Box by BA.

Watching a P-40 fly around like the bastard child of a Corvette and a Zero was very traumatic for me. I believe I may need therapy.

Hardly. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif BoB graphics engine should be much more advanced and better looking. At least judging by des.doc features. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
As for the flight models of the X-Box game - and what do you expect from a console arcade? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

On the flipside, we drooled over LOMAC for years, it looked fantastic, but where did that get us?

Keep in mind....that game isn't for us...its for a different type of player. But the guys who get interested in that, may get interested in the type of games we like to play and thus generate greater interest for the more realistic versions of combat simulators.

Hi Takata,

You need to re-enter the cockpit and come back online.

Well then they need to start actually buying the game (PF or BOB or whatever) or we won't be seeing future installments.

I second that! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Actually, I hope this game does well in stores. If the engine is licensed from 1C, then more game sales means not only more money for 1C, but also possibly demand for more development of the engine.
Put the two together and maybe it'll mean a 4.1 patch?

I wish - what kind of arcade shooter will, as you say, "demand for more development". That's OUR responsibility - X-Box pilots don't really care. The issue here is, hopefully getting 1C to just make this a one-stop-shop; I personally would rather the devs concentrate on PC sims, but console shooters just produce SOOO much more revenue.

In short, if it keeps the company in the green, so be it, but don't forget who your TRUE fans are Maddox!!!! We'd rather not see you console dev'ing, if you can help it!

It Looks interesting. I may get it with the full understanding that it is an Arcade game. I am sure I'll complain about it's inaccuracies, but at the end of the day I'll still have my solid three sims to came back to. I still play Crimson Skies on Xbx Live from time to time. Its a nice way to just purly have fun, that and I love dominating the competition. LOL!

BTWE my big three sims are CFS2, FS9, and IL2/PF merge.

I was thinking that maybe UBI would see the value of letting Oleg "do his thing" developing the FM and DM for BoB. If the "engine" is generating more revenue, then the suits at UBI may be more willing to indulge him in his wishes to work on stuff for the PC side.

One of the big benefits about the original XBox was the supposed ease of porting back and forth between console and PC. I don't know if that will hold true as well for the XBox360, but if it does, then it would be an ideal situation for us. 1C works on the "engine" for both platforms, heartily encouraged by UBI (because they're making more money off the "engine").

I can dream, can't I?? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

No, actually Arcade games like this, detracts from A/C sims on PC.....

Reason is: if the game does reasonably well, no developers will even want to bother with complicated sims for less market share and less $$$, when they can pump out the Arcade Xbox flight games for even less trouble.

And I doubt any Xbox kiddie is gonna ever want to buy a PC just because IL2 looks soo much better and has less eye candy.

So we lose on both ends. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
