Not sure if it's possible or not but I believe it will never happen. I haven't seen a sim yet that has this feature. Sorry to rain on your parade.

I just love it when you're almost done with an hour long misson and your mom says "Get off now, no buts"

I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem, but I doubt it:

I can very seldom spare 2 hours in a row to play a mission till the end (say a bomber mission with 150 km. of range).

I have no idea on how complicated it is, but would really appreciate (as, I think, everyone of us who has a family!) an option to SAVE MISSIONS IN PROGRESS and then start where I had left them.

What are the communities' feelings about this proposal?

I think it would be very helpful to save during the mission, yet there would obviously be the issue whether it is realistic or not

then again, it could be an option that allows or disallows in-flight save files in difficulty settings.

Vote...and you'll have time for both Il2 and your children/spouse(s)/pets etc...

i hate to rain on yourparade GT182 , but the in the flanker series you are able to save anywhere you are during a mission

Thanks to everyone who has voted.
But we need more: the issue of overly long missions will only get more serious with PF: say that you take off and then can't find your carrier to land on...

this is simple, those that want it can use it - those that don't, don't have to use it.

good idea - bump

Thanks to anyone who voted, supporting this small thread of mine.
I have no idea of how complicated it would be to implement the save feature in the game. I just would like this requirement to be considered for future sims, also for the sake of their longevity and flexibility. Imagine an Allied heavy bomber mission over Germany, with landing in Russia, or escorting bombers to Ploesti, leaving from Italy.
How many of us would have 7-8 hours in a row to play the game?

To those who say it wouldn't be realistic: very true, and, for me at least it's quite good news, since I'd have been buried already a few hundread times...

I also realise that this isn't the sexiest topic on earth, but I have no competence to judge realism of horizontal bars or acceleration rates. I simply would like to point out an issue that, I bet for others as well, drastically limits my ability to play my favourite game.

Didn't the original Red Baron have a feature were you could actually save a recording and then jump into that record at any point.

my thread won't die as easily as me in Il2...

there is no point to have a saving option in this game, you can cross the entire map in 15 min anyway, personaly i want huge maps b17 II style http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

you can always put autopilot on and compress time anyway, if you dont bother to fly for the 15 min it takes to get to you target.
looking forward to bigger maps in Pacific Fighters.
