I've had one for a while but have yet to migrate over from Hotmail. Is it worth the trip or is it more of the same?

You know Gmail is public now.

The system for registering is a little odd. They ask for a cellphone number to which they text-message a reg code.

They say this is to minimize single individuals opening multiple accounts, spammers and such. But I suspect the database of cell numbers will be part of a future project. Not saying it's nefarious, google's Privacy policy is pretty good, just saying that there are other ways to prevent auto registration that don't generate valuable databases.

I needed multiple accounts. I simply invited all my other multiple yahoo accounts. I suppose others did this which is why they have 200 invitations to pass out. I never even thought of counting mine.

If anyone else needs an ivite(because registration is very fast and easy this way)just do like the rest and send a pm.

What is the maximum Email "send" size?

That's a good question. So far the biggest attachment I've sent was 2.9mb contracts. Adding the attachment is very easy, much easier than others.

So far I'm 110% satisfied.

<A HREF="http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=8770&topic=40" TARGET=_blank>With Gmail, you can send and receive messages up to 10 megabytes (MB) in size. However, the precise amount allowable will depend on the attachment.
When you add an attachment, the size of a file may increase because transport encodings are automatically added. (Transport encodings are the information that allows your message to be safely sent and read.)

This means that in some cases, attachments that are 6 to 10MB in size may push the total message size above 10MB. When this happens, Gmail displays a warning that your message exceeds the 10MB limit.
