If we cannot have the 11lb Sabre IIB can we have, as a subsititute, the 11lb Sabre IIA V1 chaser ?

There is more data on this model including boost pressure at various altitudes and full estimated speed charts.

Here is the curve for 11lb boost on the Sabre IIA

http://www.spitfireperformance.com/tempest/sabrecurve.jpg

Here is an incomplete speed chart for the 11lb IIA

http://www.spitfireperformance.com/spit14+25lbs.jpg

Here is a chart showing the Sabre IIA at 9lbs rate of climb, note how the curve follows a linear pattern, caluculation of 11lb boost climb should be very easy to plot based on this:

And here is a graph made calculated from Hawker Test Data which shows its speed in comparison to the 9lb IIA.

It's a very valid request, but consider that opening a new thread every two weeks for it won't make a better case for it.
As a matter of fact, it's getting a bit boring, especially as the new thread is just above the old thread. What' the point?

BTW, shouldn't a Sabre IIA and IIB would have the same performance at +11 anyway...?

I think that the IIa ran at lower rpm than the IIb.

Techinically it's a different model, so a new thread is justified http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Besides, it's sorely missed.

Thinking about it, Roland have you emailed Oleg this data? (Include link to other thread too :P)

Simple fact of life: It's the squeeking wheel that gets the oil.

Keep whining, guys.

Sabre IIA and IIB had a few differences. It was stressed for slightly higher rpms and put out approximately 40 more hp. It was also slightly better above 15,000 feet as its supercharger altitude stages were slightly higher

The IIA put out about 2,380 peak hp at 1,850 feet at 3,700 rpm and +11lbs

The IIB put out 2,420 peak hp at 2,050 feet at 3,850 rpm and +11lbs.

It would be a travesty to the game to not get the uprated Tempest and a later mark of Mosquito with the capability to carry rockets as well.

We have soooo many varients of other aircraft that these are natural fits and easy to do by modelling standards...lets throw in a high boost D Mustang for kicks and giggles too so we can have some fun with the K-4 C3 and the High ATA Fw 109 A5

Hold out hope for Luthier's Korea game based on the new Storm of War engine. A Sea Fury would be completely appropriate for that scenario...although prop fighters by that time were very much ground attack weapons.

You dont need a high boost D Mustang to compete with the K4C3, there's already the Mk.III as well as all sorts of my-boost-is-higher-than-yours P38s and P47s, btw the "1.65ata" FW190A5 is a joke, its only better than the normal A5 from 0-1000m, above that it's actually worse (--> Jabo version).

yep, the Fw190A-5 1,65ATA should only be used as -/U3,-/U17 to be a 190F-2, -3 and with -/U8 as a 190G-3 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
i have no proplems with that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
