Didn't Aces of the Pacific model that plane?
I seem to remember flying against it in a couple of missions.
The could be confusing when mixed with several other planes in a furball because the look like they are flying backwards.

In the heat of a heavy furball it was easy to take a snapshot at one and miss by 30' Behind the thing before you realize its going the other direction.

In reality I don't think the plane would have been a good dogfighter due to the canard layout but it would have been a good climber with great speed and had big guns . . . lookout stratofortresses!
