I just upgraded my video card from a NVIDIA 7900 to a GTX260. With water settings at perfect I now get water flashing at the bottom of the screen. I have the latest video drivers. Never had any problems with these exact settings with the 7900 just a slow frame rate.

What version are you playing? When I upgraded to 1946 downloading the beta 4.09 dll's fixed all my texture problems. Might want to give it a try. If that doesn't fix things others that are more PC inclined than I can probably help you farther.

I have a Evga GTX 260 and have it OCd. I have no such issues.

What are you control panel settings? Do you use Nhancer? I recommend it. I run 4xAA and 8xAF at 1680x1050 in perfect mode. I run texture filter to High Quality (its set to Quality by default). I run Vertical Sync always on and have Triple Buffering enabled. I also use the 4.09 .dlls even when running 4.08.

Here is my Config.ini settings:

[Render_OpenGL]
TexQual=3
TexMipFilter=3
TexCompress=0
TexFlags.UseDither=1
TexFlags.UseAlpha=0
TexFlags.UseIndex=0
TexFlags.PolygonStipple=1
TexFlags.UseClampedSprites=0
TexFlags.DrawLandByTriangles=1
TexFlags.UseVertexArrays=1
TexFlags.DisableAPIExtensions=0
TexFlags.ARBMultitextureExt=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineExt=1
TexFlags.SecondaryColorExt=1
TexFlags.VertexArrayExt=1
TexFlags.ClipHintExt=0
TexFlags.UsePaletteExt=0
TexFlags.TexAnisotropicExt=1
TexFlags.TexCompressARBExt=1

TexFlags.TexEnvCombine4NV=1
TexFlags.TexEnvCombineDot3=1
TexFlags.DepthClampNV=1
TexFlags.SeparateSpecular=1
TexFlags.TextureShaderNV=1

HardwareShaders=1

Shadows=2
Specular=2
SpecularLight=2
DiffuseLight=2
DynamicalLights=1
MeshDetail=2
VisibilityDistance=3

Sky=1
Forest=2
LandShading=3
LandDetails=2

LandGeom=3
TexLarge=1
TexLandQual=3
TexLandLarge=1

VideoSetupId=17
Water=3
Effects=1
ForceShaders1x=0
PolygonOffsetFactor=-0.15
PolygonOffsetUnits=-3.0

Try that out and see if it helps.

All good sugestions. I'm running 4.08m, I will try 4.09. I haven't messed around with the control panel yet but I will delve into it. Thx for for the config.ini setting they will give me something to try.

i got the same thing but messing with the 3D settings in the nVidia controle pannel only makes it worse, the only thing you can change with out problems is AA, but you have to set it so it overides the games settings.

I only see the effect you described from some alt. looking at an slight angle behind the plane (like bomber on level stabilizer and F8 key view)

Think we need to wait on the patch and see if that fixes it.

Problem fixed. I upgraded to version 4.09beta and all artifacts are gone. Might be a problem if I have to sync up with 4.08 servers.

Well you can not fly in 4.08 servers with the 4.09 patch but you can copy the the core.dlls from 4.09 and paste them in your 4.08 version. Doing this will allow you to fly 4.08 but have the benefits of the 4.09 beta patch.
