Has anyone seen this film?

I have been seeing previews of it lately in various places and it looks good.

Its a Russian film, about a company who goes to Afganistan during the war in the 80's (I think)

If anyone has seen it or heard about it, could you tell us your thoughts pls?

I am thinking of going to see it.

Thanks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The 1st clip makes it look a little more cheesy than I was expecting.

I've seen it. It is better than I thought it would be. Also about the Russian experience in Afghanistan is The Beast - corny but I liked it quite a bit.

Ive seen it too, I expected something different than a typical Hollywood movie (American all-good hero vs pure evil german/soviet/arab) It was appaerant, that Russia is capable of producing the very same technological level, it had great scenes, and all in all was a good war movie, but I truly got fed up with movies where invaders are depicted as heros and those defending their own country are mindless but evil lambs for the slaughter. Still, it worths watching, for me it was quite refreshing to listen to Russian instead of English. And to a degree it was able to deliever the tragedy of those young enlisted man who only wanted to finish the military sooner, so they took the service in Afghanistan, and usually died there.

Interesting film. Nothing really new or outstanding I thought but I did enjoy it. The coolest part was the genuine Soviet hardware instead of mock-ups. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I take it that neither the MiG-28 or MiG-31 made an appearance then? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
