View Full Version : Which version best for me PC or PS3?

I will definitely buy Assassin's Creed but I'm not sure which version to get.

I've always been a PC gamer. I love playing games on my PC and ordinarily my preference is always to get the PC version of a game if possible. Fortunately I can afford to keep my system on the cutting edge with the latest hardware.

I'm a graphics *****. I love games that look good, not discounting great gameplay of course.

I loved the Prince of Persia games. Sands of Time was fantastic. I love the combination of acrobatic moves, environmental puzzles and combat entwined in an engrossing story.

It looks to me like AC will have everything I love about playing games.

After being a hardcore PC gamer for years I've just started to get into console games. I only bought a PS3 to play blue-ray movies but I got a few games as well. MotorStorm is really great.

But I totally suck at playing fps games on console. I can't get the hang of aiming with that round thing. I can play Resistance Fall of Man for about 30 seconds before getting blown away every time. If it was on PC with mouse and keyboard they would be wasted.

Here's my problem. I've got a fantastic Sony 40" widescreen 1080p HDTV, perfect for playing games on the PS3. I've also got a high-spec PC with a 22" widescreen monitor.

So I'm wondering which version do you think I would be better off getting, PC or PS3? Which one will look better assuming the most favourable hardware available for each version? Is aiming part of the gameplay for AC?

All versions are supposed to be exactly the same, so it's up to you. It would probably be better to wait until it gets out to see if this is true.

I doubt there will be aiming, but it could be since you have a crossbow.

since you havent preordered it or anything my first question would be, are you planning on doing that??

and if not, then wait for the game to come out and see which people think is better. if your PC is only for gaming then get it for PC(especially if youve got a good computer that is fast) and buy a handle to use on the comp if you prefer analog

or you could draw names out of a hat http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The PC might have a couple mods avalible or atleast before other systems get it. Since they are similar go for the one that you are more comfortable with. I also doubt there will be a lot of aiming. If there is there will be a way around it because the game is so open to choice.

lol pc's rule fps games mouse keyboard beats dpad + analoge stick and a bunch of buttons

from a purley hardware/performance point of view ps3 versions probabily going to be better then pc

hold a constant frame rate better (its programmed for 1 gpu only, not a bunch of variants of lots of base models)

less chance of memory leaks, (again 1 type of memory not several variants in several speeds from lots of manufacturers with different performance ratings)

less variables such as drivers, direct x what else is running in the background etc

but naa ill still take pc ^_^ im odd like that

Unless you have a good gamepad for your PC I suggest you go with console.
Remember in the T2T? It's extremely hard with mouse+keyboard, but very easy with an analogue controller. I'm not expecting anything different here.

Actually I had no control problems using mouse and keyboard in SoT, WW or T2T and quite enjoyed playing them that way. They played great with the usual fps controls.

then youll obviously enjoy it on the PC!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You should get it for PC, and make sure u have an amazing Video Card, and Graphics, and make sure alot of space, then bam, it'll look amazing...but im not too sure about the controls on that game

to tell the truth, i never really liked the arrow keys... they always bugged me...especially the fact that you gotta press two of them to move diagonally http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif i'll stick to analogues thank you

I say wait for the demo. Play the demo on the PS3 see what you think of it. There might be a demo available for PC as well and if there is try that out too.

That's not entirely correct. The consoles have a constant graphics quality while PC's graphic quality changes dramatically from game to game, and from VGA to VGA.

In All Known Facts, it stands that you can make every person like u better, but its just working on ps3! Is this true? cuse i want 2 play the entire game! nothing will be left behind! if it dosent work on PC i should get a job and a PS3

we will have to wait and see,
hopefully it's not a BAD port for the PS3, but if it is, then i'd suggest you get the PC version, if it's a fair or very well ported game, then I'd go for the PS3 version.

07-04-2007, 09:51 AM
the original version of the game was meant for the ps3, so it isnt a port, besides jade said that all the versions will be almost exactly the same.

well if your pc is everything you say it is and you have a controller for the pc (i hate playing games like this with keyboard) then id say pc
cuz theres always the chance people will make mods or something and increase the games value for you
