wow flew this map for the first time tuesday night it was AWESOME. I love the 38 so its was a breath of fresh air to find a map where most of the pilots were flying it. the map seems very well balanced as far as aircraft. and it was a joy to look around and see the forked tail devil's at every glance, for those of you that like the 38 check it out

Well i wish Warclouds would tone down the deathkicks - I struggle to get in greatergreen now and there's far tooo many ace pilots moved over - I keep getting my *** handed to me now... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

GreaterGreen's final step to becoming the best server online again is to.......

Eliminate 75-80% of their current AAA load. Too many guns and too high rates of fire. PLEASE GG, tone down the AAA! Who gives a flyin' rat's crack about immersion of it comes at a price of 5 FPS. I'd rather get vulched.

Keep in mind that alot of maps are new and always changing in the rotation. If too much AAA causes too much lag we'll hear about it and change it immediatly. If you have a problem with one of the maps take it up on the gg forums in the map discussion area. A new map might work great with 32 people but when its maxed out at 40 then some tweaks might be in store, its tough to tell unless its tested. No reason to get annoyed its always work in progress so thank =Tgd=Thrud for his dedication to keeping the server maps fresh, fun and playable.

Sorry Gates, that one line did sound "annoyed".

GG is right now the funnest, but not the smoothest. I understand the work-in-progress issues.

thanks for the plug Gate.

Cuda, that is an historical mission. I didn't put the back story in the brief because, as you know, no one reads the brief.

if you are intrested in the history of that mission, here is one of my sources for it. it's only a page or so long but a good read.

Said it before, and am saying it again:

GreaterGreen if simply great. Great maps, great planesets, great server connection, great players...

Use of 'great' in describing 'Great'ergreen purely coincidental.

That sounds like a lot of fun! No Mk-108's!! Well but for the 110's.

Im guessing its P-38 J's? I may stop in for a flight. The only problem is I am still braking in my X-52 and my aim is WAY off.

sounds like a blast, yeah greatergreen is the most fun and Im glad to see as the most popular and top server on HL once again like it was in the past.

Im wondering did the 38s and the 47s crush the bf110 and g2.

the 190a4 and bf110g2 would be interesting vs the p47 razorbacks and p38j.

I been hooked on flying japanese in zeke vs wildcat which is extremely difficult to stay alive in and lots of fun, f16 dedicated is another great one and virtualpilots.

btw cuda I owe you 3 deaths http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif some tough odds but S to you.

As a greatergreen mapmaker, server regular and resident gg squad member, I will mirror the sentiments expressed by Gate and Thrud. We are constantly trying to produce exciting, immersive maps with fair and competitive planesets.

It's not as hard as it seems, but the tweaking necessary to hit the correct balance can be challenging at times. This sim still has much to offer and rest assured we will continue to attempt to keep it fresh and fun.

Anyone who has flown gg for any length of time will know that vulching IS allowed and the AAA is practically a necessity to help neutralize base camping. I agree it can be toned down in some instances and any occurrences that have been found to cause serious lag/stutter are addressed immediately.

One of the highlights in our maps are the historical references and the ability to achieve victory in other ways than plane/pilot counts. I know other servers run the FBD script (and quite effectively too) and they will understand the challenges in creating a truly fun map that has balance, diversity, playability and is fun.

Thanks for the kind words and please drop by the gg forums ( http://www.greatergreen.com/index.php?page=pf )if there are any issues you would like addressed.

I would also like to add that we have a public TS server that typically has only about 3-5 people using it. I won't go into the value of coordinated flights (it's been done to death) but would like to encourage anyone stopping by to drop in and say hi.

The TS IP is: 24.85.233.188 pw= servus

Again thanks for the good words.

Greater Green is known for putting together a quality server and their reputation is well deserved. Your server is the only other server that I visit and I have never been dissapointed Good job guys and Salute

Out of respect to your server and admin I will not include the my usual sig. I just want to give credit where credit is due

Hi,

Yep - credit to GG for an interesting and varied experience. I support the AAA use; it's often handy to drag a bandit over your base to be put at the mercy of the gunners + like you say, it cuts down on those who think they are good because they can shoot down 5 planes a flight...providing they still had their gear down.

Cheers,
Norris

Let me also add one strong suggestion here. Because of the diversity and historical nature we strive for, it is often of utmost importance to..."READ THE BRIEF" posted in the base selection screen for each map. It can save you countless minutes wandering around, help you make a base/plane selection and keep the text chat to a minimum. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
