I can just see it now, an entire series of stugumby landings, will probably tear the tail fillet off day one. I cant even handle a yak, how am i going to cope with a dual engined beast, and the tempest's tourque will throw me off the runway at take off. arrghh

www.joint-ops.com (http://www.joint-ops.com) Sign up for these. I have been flying this sim since 2002 and am starting the Feburary course myself. Not that I have any troubles like the one you mentioned, but I am sure there will be something I will learn to help me. And it is setup for people that are as new to this sim as one can be. Just a thought.

It also will get into the air very quickly, like a STOL aircraft. Mostly due to it's power. Try taking off in the P-38 Late and you will be the same as practicing take off in the Anteater.

As far as Yaks and like aircraft go, make sure to lock the tail wheel prior to take off and ease the throttle up slowly. Use lots of rudder to keep it in the center. As the tail comes up, start easing off the rudder. You'll get there, just like I did way back when.

Yak's are a bit hypersensitive right now. I think they are being toned down a bit to be more livable in the next patch.

Try the Yak-9 instead of the Yak-3. Just the Yak-9 1942 variant. Practice that before you go all high powered in the Yak-3. Also, the Tempest has a very wide track undercarriage so its ground handling is not bad despite the massive power of the engine.
