Anybody play this series with their kids or, ahem, by themselves? All I can say is, "Wow." I found a copy of RCT Deluxe (the first one with two expansion packs built-in) in the local bargain bin and I have to say that it is a ton of fun.

My 7 year old son loves it and we have spent hours and hours over the past few weeks, building parks and completing objectives and just having a real good time. I find myself up late at night manipulating parks to increase cash, guests, and park rating, and helping my son unlock new parks by completing scenarios.

The user interface is great, the game plays very well and with the fact that you can completely design your own rides and parks, gives an endless amount of possibilities. The one thing that can get tedious is having to construct the entrances, exits, and paths to rollercoasters that have them buried in the middle of the ride. Other than that, I give it a 9.5 out of 10.

I wish I had discovered this series earlier. I downloaded an RCT2 demo and they made some nice improvements on the game, like adding a First Aid station for guests and it automatically builds entrances and exits when you build a ride, so all you have to do is get the path to it. RCT3 is a complete overhaul to the graphics engine and I haven't had a chance to demo it yet.

I'm going to get my son RCT2 Triple Thrill Pack (RCT2 + Time Twister and Wacky Worlds expansion packs) for his birthday in November. I admit that I have become somewhat addicted to this game and haven't even looked at IL2:1946 in almost two weeks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Wait till you get hold of RCT3! You can actually get ON the rides and ride them (first person camera)!

Ooh, that sounds cool! After reviewing some screenshots today, I expect that RCT3 is much more graphics-intensive than the previous two games. I'm going to download the RCT3 demo tonight and check it out.

Between RCT3 and BoB coming, I guess I have more than enough incentive now to build my new PC soon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/typing.gif

My XP2600, 333MHz with GF4 Ti 4200 128MB is getting extremely long in the tooth. Although, for IL2:1946, having 2GB of RAM, lowering graphics, and disabling VSync, still makes it very playable and it still looks decent enough to allow me to see everything I need to on a given map.

I loved these games when they came out. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

The interface/graphics for RCT1 and 2 are certainly showing their age, but they are still fun to play.

My favorite part of the game was (and always will be) making as many peeps barf as I could when they got off a high-nausea ride.

Hehe, I like dropping the whiney, complaining guests into the water and letting them drown. Shuts them up real quick. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Speaking of graphics, I watched a few movies of RCT3 at lunch today. Wow, I am definitely going to need a PC upgrade to run that game maxed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

Pretty cool addition being able to actually "ride the rides" though. I can't wait to try the demo tonight.

Wow, RCT3 is going to be cool. I checked out the demo and the interface will take a little getting used to and the graphics are going to be hard on a PC when maxed out, but they made some very cool improvements over RCT1 and 2.
