Well... We don't know what you look like, and the pic is so low quality that even if we did we wouldn't be able to tell. It's like takeing a pic of a bunch of rocks and asking, "Which am I thinking of?"

Ahh that was the GLO's mutt (Ground Liason Officer)... it went everywhere with him, he was a nice chap for a Pongo... That is an old derogutary military term for a member British Army...

Ie where ever the Army goes the Pong goes too.. Ie they don't wash that often in the field so smell bad.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

One far far back 11:00, far back by the woods, near that row of little plastic "sheds?"....Pouring gasoline into the 50 gallon drum with a lighter in your other hand.

Forgive me I am sure to be wrong but is it RAF Bruggen, kind of reminds me.

Taylortony
09-30-2005, 02:06 PM
Yup, Its Bruggen... The only Airfield I have ever been on when it was being Bombed...

Straight up the practice bombs fell off a Jag on take off lol and landed on Hill 60 at the end of the Runway in amongst where we were working... lots of flashes and bangs..... had to retire to the bar to rethink our working practices

I hope you guys at least parked the borrowed bird in the back (and cannibalized it while you had it.) To think of borrowing a "w@nker" (526th FS) or "Gong Show" (13th FS) bird for one of our (512th or 14th FS respectively) group photos would be blasphemous.

Pretty brave, parking them on grass, too. Jags must not be the Hoovers that Vipers are. Vipers no likee grass... even dirty concrete causes FOD problems.

LOL! This 'Pongo' worked Airfield Damage Repair (ADR) for from 1981 - 85 for 'RAF G'. The last time I saw that many Crabs was during a lecture on sexually transmitted diseases! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Not ermmmmm 52 field Squadron by any chance? or was it 56 my memory lapses............ we used to play with those. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

being in the RAF one did not require Sexual Transmitted Disease lectures as we did not simply rutt on command... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif I do believe Queens Regs still has a passage in it requiring the Army cavalry sleep some 8 foot from their mounts.... that says something in my book http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
