...a new German voice pack.

I'm sorry, but these guys are extremely annoying. The British and Russian voices are just about perfect, while some of the Americans sound like little girls. But even that's better than the eardrum-busting, nerve-splaying hysteria screaming it's way through my headphones whenever the Germans are chased after or shot up.

After the numerous wonderful updates we've recieved over the years, it would go such a long way if the German voice pack was overhauled.

Seriously. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

The german voices in particular get on my nerves. Doesn't matter what the situation is, these guys get upset.

Reminds me of that episode of family guy where hitler runs a talk show.

Hitler:

DU WERDEST EINE KRANKENSCHWESTER BRAUCHEN!!!

Hysterical Hans? Yeah it is horrible. I have great fears for the quality of future voice packs for SoW.

I also can't stand the Kids from Happy Days that pass as the US speech pack. Sounds like Ritchie Cunningham and Potsie having a pillow fight. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Why these respective communities can't get their proverbial sh*t together and produce something better - one actor at a time - I'll never know. Where is the famous Can Do attitude that made America so great?

At least Germany is one step ahead. Some clever fellow put together this new ground controller to replace Sergeant Schultz.

Cop this Treetop!!! He's a she: http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

The german speachpack is the only one ingame that at least makes half a realistic impression.
The english and american ones are just terrible; flat, uninspired, without emotion and good acting.

In the german speachpack you even get completely different accents that feel extremely natural.

I agree that the vanilla English speech pack is terrible, but there are some excellent user-made ones avaiable (I'm thinking of Compans' here, but there are others).

It's good to know that the German speech pack sounds natural to a native German speaker, but I must admit that I turn the volume down when I fly blue!

the germans have got the most convincing bit of talk. the desperate panick screams when they get on fire.
very convincing for me. what i do hate is the russian: what are you doing? oh noooo!
in the IL2.

I believe they call him "Backseat Boris". http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Backseat Boris is one of my favorite parts of flying the IL2. I wouldn't think of turning him off. Makes me laugh every time...even after all these years.

Sounds like he is speaking through a lavatory S-bend a mouth full of biscuits. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

It's funny when you fly an IL-2 under American colors, "Backseat Boris" turns into Backseat Bill! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

If I fly the IL-2 with German colors, do I get Backseat Bubi? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I like Japanese speech pack.
Can't understand jack, but if on some occasion friendly gets shot down, it can sometimes produce most agonizing scream ever heard in IL2.
They did a good work on that speechpack, of course final word can only be from native Japanese speaker.
Talk about impression http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif .

I sort of like the German speech packs. Some of the screams in there are pretty funny...but believable.

I posted these in the fall some time... I was going to upload them to flying legends, but they don't have a category for new voices. My voice acting isn't always the best, but I think these are better than the annoying "happy days" kid. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Goes in the folder were the bomber crew is.

@ Feathered:

Couldn't get that link to work, but I did download the Female VVS voice and it is splendid! The radio static and interference was a great touch.

Thanks http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I uploaded the blitzmaiden controller to Z-Share. That should do the trick;

Compans' voice packs are great. They always crack me up. The voice pack for his latest campaign is fantastic.

I really don't have too many problems with the included voice packs. Backseat Boris cracks me up.

I agree that the german screams are convincing.

It would be cool if we could stick a wilhelm scream in there: Wilhelm Scream (http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=4YDpuA90KEY)

I have played this sim for so long the voices don't even register in my brain anymore. So I have no complaints.

the fact that "Boris" is a whiny biitch who acts with almost any changes in AOA, meanwhile the dead weight behind the pilot in a Beau is too busy with self-manicure than to even shout a simple warning of a bogey on the 6 kinda rankles
