Hi, and merry Christmas TO EVERYBODY!!!

Ive just bought this game. but Im no simulator fan...I just want to fly, quick and easy and shoot down some planes! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
also, I have no joystick...

How should I set up the game?
Ive learnt to take off and fly only with keyboard, but it is too clumsy...there's no way to fly using mouse + keyboard? (Like an ordinary FPS game)

Also, there's no way to use a FIXED external camera? If yes, how??

Thanks guys!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

F8 might do...

No joystick? No fun...

This not like an ordinary FPS game...

I'm afraid you will need a joystick even to play the game in arcade mode.
You can have a locked external cam via pressing F8, but you wont be able to hit a thing.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

....I understand that you understand almost nothing in computer technology(regarding how to get all features working well in one great code and how to get it fully optimized for all aspects of the game and where developers must go for compromisses), because you are speaking bla-bla-bla about things that you don't know. So, there's no way to use the mouse to dive up-down-left-right??<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Not really. Although you could just hit autopilot, then sit back and drink a few beers http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I reckon do yourself a favour and buy a cheap-ish joystick. Have to warn you though, you'll soon be on the slippery slope to becomming a devoted fan if you do. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yep...even a cheap Saitek joystick should do the trick to get you started. Not a huge cost and well worth the extra ability that a joystick gives you.

This is definitely not like an ordinary FPS game...this is so much more but the game has incredible power to let you control how difficult it is and you can work your way up.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

If you buy a joystick, at the very least you'll want an 8-way hat switch, throttle, and rudder axis....minimum.

If you get settle for less, you'll prbally be getting another one soon, then another.

Bottom line...best to get a decent stick, as opposed to a few cheap sticks and then getting a decent stick.

Recomendations rely on your setup.ie;do you have a sound card that has a game port? or do you use on-board sound (this would mean a USB device).

Hi,

I agree with Badatit, the cheapest option often turns out to be the most expensive in the long run. Do your groundwork before parting with cash.

...And the hat switch and rudder is very helpful, you should aim for this at least.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
