What the heck is wrong with this patch? I downloaded it off the link that's all over the forums and it came out as a .dll file that won't associate with anything.

Is it useable with the US version of the game? Anyone have any help for me on this?

I had no problem - was it the correct version?

4.0m or 4.0 for PF standalone?

if all is correct - maybe the d/l was glitched...try again or wait for official patch.

Nevermind - I just installed Firefox and am downloading it as I type this. For some reason Netscape kept tacking .ddl on the end of the file even when I told it not to.

My teammates used Explorer and it worked fine for them. Time to switch browsers.

You could manually rename the file back to what it should be after though. It wont change the contents of the file. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Got it, it works now. Firefox downloaded it the right way...very nice, but the IL2's are screwy. Don't feel heavy anymore and a chandelle in one is hair-raising. hmmmm

Wait till you get to fly the precious Cobra's...

*brrrr* the torque when the mission starts - quick mission - is hideous and ground behaviour odd..
the FM is far from the good old il2-feeling, but still better then before i think..

APART from that absolute ridiculous rudder pendulum sway on alot of allied planes.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

But; once again the Cobra's are fun to fly and a challenge again.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

I flew some missions in an offline campaign with my squadmates last night in the N-1.

Yup, the good old murderbird form the original IL2 game is back! But I noticed she has better energy retention and sustained climb than before. Ad even better: the buffet effects from impending stalls is more pronounced!

Makes it a lot more realistic to ride the edge of a turn stall. And the feeling of speed is much better now in all the planes.

The yaw and roll from the torque is pretty rough on the ground, but it'll be second nature soon to smooth it all out.

I miss the aerobatics I was able to do in the IL2 though: chandelles are hair-raising, as are grass-mowing gun passes since the beast wants to corkscrew it's nose into the ground when speed drops.

Still, it's a whole new ball game and I approve.

It worked fine for me....

I haven't seen any bugs yet...

I'm running a AMD 64 3200 with and an NVIDIA GFX 6600 256 OC with the latest drivers 77.31 and it's awsome.....

I've been flying with 4.0M 2 days now and it's getting better and better, only the allied rudder thing is something i still need to get used to, i hope they smooth that out alot aswell.
I am gonna try the il2's today i guess http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif No matter how bad/challenging they make the P-39's i will keep flying them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
