And why do you like it?
No flaming here please, or... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif

Among my favourites are VFC*HOST for East & WarClouds for West front. I don't fly much PTO online lately.

I'm not sure that I have a favorite yet, but I tend to find myself on 334th Dedicated or UK Dedicated.

Trying to make it from the pad to the runway in 334th is as - if not even more - dangerous than flying into a mob of bandits all alone.

UK Dedicated sets its bases up to prevent that level of insanity.

I fly on WarClouds almost exclusively. I liked some other servers like EasternHotShots and Greatergreen, but they have same problem for me as VFC*host - Time zone (action time is too late for me).

I'm new to the online thing still (though 30+ hours in 5 days on various servers) so my opinion may not mean much. I like UK1 (really good maps)& AFJ, but my favorite is 334th for this reason - there are always guys using TS. I sent them $25 yesterday and plan on playing there mostly for the forseeable future.

"HISTORIA" for Historical match ups unmatched by any other server

"IOCL" International Online Competition World best Pilots with difficulties of the IOCL league

"Normandie Niemen" Yak's (& IL2's) versus Axis The name says it all.

Hey guys, can you recommend me a full realism Ostfront server w/ plenty of ground objects which always features the Sturmovik? I've flown @ Virtualpilots like on and off for a while now, but those huge Gulf of Finland maps are just too big for my computer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Any suggestions gentlemen?

I think we were there - 334th - at the same time once, but I never saw you. I fly as PROXIMVS.

mlunder I like to fly with bombs so most times early in a map change I'm in a b-25, -111, or -88 in some safe corner of the map struggling to get up high and make a level bomb run. Usually there is only time to get in 1 or 2 of these flights per map. Then when the map change is getting too close to invest a bunch of time in a long climb to altitude I strap some bombs on something tough and go in on the deck.

I fly fighters because I suck at bombing and ground attack except when using rockets or flying P-39's (and even in P-39's my miss ratio is painful). Flying red once in a P-47D-22 I escorted a B-25 making an on the deck sneak attack on the blue forward base at Novorossiysk(?) where I was downed by a 190A who got me with another one of those annoying head-on snipe shots before I could get my nose on him.

I log ~95% of my online hours on warclouds. Great missions, great people. Other than the Do-335, what more could one want?

Especially when I will be able to launch it as an unmanned dedicated coop server. That would be world's first, I think... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

When I get some more experience online I hope to meet some people interested in training as a bomber formation - 3 or 4 bombers and 3 or 4 fighters using a dedicated ts channel and co-ordinating attacks. I think it would be great fun to set up some intensive attacks: Use the fighters to draw attention one way while the bombers come in low from different directions, or for high altitude missions launch the bombers first and set up rendevous locations and times to pick up the fighters. A flight of 4 Ju-88's dropping a large loadout (I think there is one that is 6x250+10xx70?) over an airbase or fwd position would make a big hit against the opposite side.

I fly mostly coops, but when i do fly DF servers i will go for 334th for that quick, in your face kind of action, or Warclouds for a slower, more strategy based approach. I like all settings and randomly try servers on the list, just because i can. Historia is good fun, and VFC has good settings but always empty. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/disagree.gif

Histoira - because it's a "mission" server and not a DF server, also with skin DL on it adds to the immersion of the well researched missions. you can get all the skins for the missions from thier website.

Greatergreen - because it runs smooth on my old machine, good selection of maps and plane sets ranging all years.

I think I do, but I never know who's around in that one, or who I'm seeing because there are no labels of any kind.

1. -
2. Historical Coops
3. IOCL

I prefer locket pit for those "up close" personal moments. Also, skin DL severs/Coops because it adds immersion.

I do like to fly the bombers B25 is far my favorite, AI bombers, B24 and the B17.

P11.Ace, I agree with you, nothing like a coordinated bombing run in good combat formation to get the adrenaline flowing. You add skins to that and whew!

Any locked pit server or Coop.

Till I find out the missions are weird,or the pilots in it are.

There are so many good and talented mission builders it silly to set in one place all the time.

Its great to find and buld freindships in one place though, But then you as a group, should reach out and expereince more elsewere, from time to time. Then go back home enough to ensure its still home.

But this all comes from a plane *****, and I guess a Server one too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Squad co-ops are the best

other than that

Warclouds - good crowd , good maps and well run server- only problem is my time zone and sometimes high ping

UKded 2 great crowd - relaxed and friendly- varied planesets and maps-if they would only remove externals then it would be better IMHO - but everyone has their own preferences and they are starting to get decent numbers on the current settings.

Anything but Warclouds. LOL http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Seriously, lately I enjoy pure DF servers like JG Oldies. IMO, this is the best training one can get before joining a more serious server. Non stop flying in historical manner IS cool, but it makes your close in fighting skills a little rusty.

JG Oldies has hordes of La-7 and Spit 25s, many of them using wonderwoman view - really tough place for Fw 190A pilot to hone his survival skills. Great place to determine those small parts of FM envelope to use against your opponent. Non stop action is good for gunnery practice, something you quickly lose when flying more historical action servers.

After such training, a short run on Spit vs 109 is what I go for.
