View Full Version : Slow Transitions

I am running Myst IV on an Apple G4 Imac, and it exceeds the system requirements easily. But it usually takes 5-8 sometimes 10 seconds to load the next node. I don't think that this is normal? Does anyone have a way to speed it up?

System specifications?

Sounds like a heavily loaded drive...

I have the same issue, but never thought twice about it after I read somewhere in the forums that this was by design.

Am running PB G4 1.33 w/ 768 MB and 5400 RPM drive. Problem occured after a rebuild of the OS with nothing but Myst IV on it, and continus after having boosted the priority.

I'd say the slower the processor the longer the transition time.

Video card?

This is what I got.

IMac G4
CPU Speed: 1.25 GHZ
Ram: 768
GeoForce FX 5(or S)200
VRAM: 64 meg

Sorry for the delay. I was swamped yesterday.

dmbfan898, I'm not really sure what to tell you. This isn't an issue that can be easily fixed. Your system is up to date and relatively fast. The only thing I can think of is hope that 10.3.6 contains a fix of some sort that might speed up your system.

On the outside you may want to make sure you have nothing else, but the bare minimum necessary, running in the background.

Thanks. I guess I will just have to be patient which isn't a bad think i guess.
